Another gig in a couple weeks with the beautiful @seanmorrison.sounds , doing the same set as Dresden in December. Lots of noisy, granular, violin based fun. Some excellent support coming from @yutingcao.music, with some Bass clarinet and electronics, and the genre - bending, 24 hour album band @concrete_swan_dive. Free entry, doors 7:30 at Peer Hat in NQ. by @patrick_gorry
Osnabrück Dec 25 My first piece played by a professional orchestra in a weekend of two premieres. A huge thank you to the wonderful @huthbenjamin for the opportunity. Less pictures for this one, and unfortunately I could not get any recording of the piece or pics of the orchestra due to red tape. Instead you have the theatre before the audience or orchestra entered, Benjamin's office and me looking a bit stressed and scruffy prior to the on stage interview. by @patrick_gorry
Dresden Dec 25 Wonderful gig at @kaeferklause with the amazing @seanmorrison.sounds in December. Very nice response in a very nice venue. Plus various other images from my time in Dresden before heading across the country to Osnabrück. by @patrick_gorry
Introducing Patrick Gorry Patrick Gorry (2003) is a Manchester-based composer and performer, exploring the boundaries of genre, the spaces between acoustic and electronic sound and intensely saturated, or de-saturated, music. Gorry works eclectically across different forms and methods, ranging from close collaboration with instrumentalists, orchestral writing, electro acoustic experiments and various forms of improvisation. This has lead to varied worked with Heather Roche, Sean Morrison, Gabriella Waclawska and łukasz Moroz, Osnabrück Symphony orchestra, Hispid Ensemble, RNCM Symphony orchestra and various DIY ensemble projects. Gorry plays with UK experimental rock group Signifying Nothing, who released their debut album An idiot full of Sound and Fury, in November 2024 . At Curio, Gorry will continue exploring his recent fascinations in microsound, glitchy and broken beats and hyper guitar riffs in a semi improvised assault on the senses. 📸 @tristanboldy Link to tickets in bio ⬆️ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ #newmusic #electronics #musicmanchester #saturation #improv by @patrick_gorry

Big catch up post on what I've been up to dec/Jan. Had a lot of fun doing more solo improv at Cafe Blah back in December, end of year event by the wonderful @klang.mcr. Much of Christmas was taken up with a job from Joe bloom, guitar in the SDC panto pit band! Good laugh. Finally played another gig with @signifyingnothinguk, the wardrobe in Leeds for a Red kite charity event. More things to come, need to make a post about composition things. by @patrick_gorry
Had a lot of fun performing in and assisting on sound for @glitchgarden_concert on Friday. Along with @hzyskowska and @haodong__wang, I helped organise this concert with the supervision and assistance of @larry_goves and professional sound expertise of @hothousediscord (Emmy Lambert). Emmy was an amazing help on planning the tech of the gig, was sound engineer for the night, and made an excellent recording of the concert, so a massive thank you to her. The night was started with a captivating new fixed media, Above the Pale Blue by @_emily_dunbar_ Phenomenal performance by @valette_ensemble , playing a wonderful pairing of Anna Clyde's Roulette with a second performance of Haodong's through the frail shadows. Alongside that was En En and Xiaodi Zhao performing a wonderful @suting.han.14 premiere, raindrop in the fog. by @patrick_gorry
