The SciCom Summit at the Museum of Science was such a cool and inspiring event! I was able to meet some of my favorite Science Communicators and nerd it up on some of my favorite topics! Really excellent to see the next generation embracing their platforms! A huge shout out to the incredible panel I was fortunate enough to host - @realmarkvins , @lindsay_nikole and @thetierzoo - great to hang out and looking forward to future projects! A massive thank you to Mark for inviting me to be a part of this! The next ramen is on me! @museumofscience - the new space is beautiful and I’m looking forward to spending more time there! Another shout-out to the @natgeo crew! @hiphopscienceshow and @rockmanethan ! So great to meet you and proud to be a part of the yellow-rectangle family! You guys are awesome. Lastly - hosting a panel is not easy, but you’d never know that watching @iandokie and @tracedominguez who could teach a masters class on it! Thank you for the great 📸 @onemorenguyen ! by @patspain

I had an excellent time at the US premier of Mark Vins’ incredible new documentary “Reef to Ridge” at the Museum of Science today! The film itself is amazing and everyone should check it out! It’s the perfect blend of incredible animals, behind-the-scenes adventures, gorgeous shots, danger, and conservation that @bravewilderness is famous for. I was honored to be invited to host the Q&A portion with Mark and Mario and so grateful to Mark to extend the invite to my family as well. An amazing day with great friends and a fantastic doc! #galapagos #documentary #bebrave #staywild by @patspain

One of my favorite accounts on this app is @dumbcelebdrawings Genuinely has me laughing out loud regularly. Alex, the comedian and artist behind it, and I have spoken a few times and have now swapped books! Everyone should check this out! by @patspain

Science communicators: on November 2, the people shaping our field will be in one room at the Museum of Science, Boston. I’ll be there moderating a session about going from influencer to impact with 3 of my favorite science communicators - @realmarkvins @lindsay_nikole and @thetierzoo , and I’d love to see you there too! https://scicomsummit.org by @patspain

The Ramones 50th anniversary tribute was an incredible celebration of every punks favorite band. It was a great chance to bring the kids fully into the fold and have them see where this music comes from and what it’s all about! by @patspain

Challenge accepted @realmarkvins !

I took the #ChompLikeAChimp challenge for @projectchimps and I'm challenging @hazenaudel @jwocker and @haleychamberlain22 / @untamedscience to do the same!

Pawpaws, Creeks and Crawly Things! Great day of exploring and filming with @patspain by @patspain

What happens when you cross a brilliant marine biologist, a NatGeo TV host, and a lifelong monster hunter? You get one hell of an episode. 🦑📺

For this one, Lacey Williams got to sit down with the absolute legend himself: Pat Spain.

If you aren't familiar with Pat yet, buckle up. He is a wildlife biologist, author, cryptozoologist, and the host of NatGeo’s Beast Hunter and Travel Channel’s Legend Hunter. He is exactly the kind of guy who leaves the safety of his lab to go chase down mythic events and unsolved riddles out in the wild, and then casually gives keynote speeches to NASA and the Royal Geographical Society. No big deal, right? 🤯

Lacey and Pat dive deep into that brilliant sweet spot where deep folklore, eyewitness accounts, and hard scientific investigation intersect (which, if you know Lacey, is her absolute jam).

They get into the grit of his decades of global expeditions, what it’s actually like investigating legendary creatures around the world, and the wild stories that live entirely rent-free in his head. Add in a heavy dash of good-humored comedy, and you have an episode you simply cannot miss.

You can catch the full episode dropping on the Cryptid Women's Society YouTube channel next week on July 28th NZST, OR if you absolutely cannot wait (and I don't blame you), you can grab early access right now over on our Patreon!

All the details are waiting for you at the link in our bio. Go tune in! 🖤

What do you get when a lifelong search for unknown creatures meets a career grounded in science, and add in a healthy dash of good-humored comedy? You're about to find out!

I was SO excited to chat with Pat Spain. He's an author, cryptozoologist, marine biologist, and television host featured on NatGeo's Legend Hunter and Beast Hunter. We explored the world where folklore, eyewitness accounts, and scientific investigation intersect. (If you're a follower of mine, you know that is my JAM.)

We'll dive into his decades of expeditions, the mysteries that continue to fascinate him, what it's really like investigating legendary creatures around the globe, and the stories that live rent free in his mind.

Watch for it on the Cryptid Women's Society on YouTube, or get early access on our Patreon! Details on both in my bio.

There’s still time to become a museum member and join the ICM Founders Club. It’s the only way to attend our VIP Grand Opening Reception where a dozen visiting cryptozoologists and folklorists will be doing a five minute story slam and the one and only Pat Spain will share some stories about his Cryptozoology Adventures! He’s a biologist and the host of National Geographic and Travel Channel shows! You won’t want to miss this or the rest of our great membership perks. Check out the link in the bio to become a member and join us at this awesome after hours event!

My daughter’s artwork continues to amaze me. This is her latest watercolor - a Pallas’s cat snoozing in a tree. They are known for being one of the grumpiest felines on Earth - but are also one of the fluffiest. She’s captured this one looking way more fluffy than grumpy. I love it! by @patspain
