POSTS STORIES REELS

I didn’t start this journey to become an athlete. I just wanted to become a healthier version of myself.

Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with running, challenging myself and simply being active.

But the best part? Having the energy, confidence and enthusiasm to share it all with my kids. ❤️

I’m fitter, healthier and happier than I’ve been in years.

Still no natural talent. Just a lot more enthusiasm.

A slightly different one from PMC today.

Most of this page is about being fairly average at sport and enjoying it anyway.

But this one matters.

I’ve signed up to run the @ultrachallenges London to Brighton 100K Ultra in support of CALM: Campaign Against Living Miserably.

Because not every challenge is physical.

We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to be better, faster, more productive and more “together”. The truth is, you never really know what someone else is carrying.

So underneath all the jokes, bad decisions and questionable pacing, this is something I care about.

Look out for your mates.
Talk more.
Listen better.

The world is a better place with you in it.

I’ll be sharing the whole 100K journey here - the training, the highs, the lows and, inevitably, some deeply mediocre running.

If you’d like to support @calmzone and this ridiculous challenge, the fundraising link is in my bio.

Marginal gains. Minimal talent. Look after your mates.

Finally worked out what my running content was missing.

You’re welcome.

9pm. Sunday night. November. Pitch black.

And I’m out enjoying a run.

Something I probably take for granted far too often.

Yes, I take precautions. But the reality is, as a man, I don’t generally have to think about the same things many women do when heading out alone.

Being followed. Harassed. Catcalled. Or simply feeling unsafe.

And that doesn’t seem fair.

Running should be about clearing your head, challenging yourself, or just getting some fresh air. Not worrying about who might be around the next corner.

We all deserve that freedom.

And as men, we’ve got a responsibility to help make that happen.

Everyone deserves the freedom of a boring run.

7am on a Sunday. A bunch of school dads. A village green.

Somebody had to bring sexy back.

Nobody asked us to. 😂

“Just an easy 5K, mate.”

Took Rowan out to show him the trails. Halloween fog, early start and his legs still battered from Thursday’s HYROX.

Nearly 8K later, he’s learning that my route planning is the scary bit. 🎃

We’re doing 100km together next year. He should probably check the distance himself.

Occasionally I knock out a surprisingly good time. Well, for me anyway.

Briefly considered checking whether Strava was broken. Decided to take the win. 👍

Fresh air. Muddy shoes. A slightly quieter head. 🌳

Training for 100km. Currently negotiating with my brain over six. 🧠

“Have a walk.”
“You’re tired.”
“Lovely spot for a little stop, that road crossing.”

Come along for a run with me and the least helpful training partner I’ve ever had. Lives in my head. Offers advice nobody asked for.

Anyone else spend half their run arguing with themselves? 😂

Getting recognised on my morning run. Fame is a strange thing.

Turns out it was just my mate on his way to work. Still counts. 😎

When your mate asks you to help him train for HYROX, you answer the call. 📞

He’s preparing for a serious fitness competition.

I’m just pleased someone invited me to the gym.

Different goals. Same questionable athletic ability.

Forrest Gump once said, “If I was going somewhere, I was running.”

And I took that personally. 🏃‍♂️

The kids have scooters. I’ve got running shoes.

Why walk to school when you can squeeze in a few extra kilometres?
