WE DID IT 🏔️🏔️🏔️

But not in the way we’d planned.

Less than 8 hours before we were due to begin, the mountain conditions forced a decision none of us wanted to make.

*Ben Nevis was out.*

With severe gale force winds forecast at midpoint and from the exposed plateau to summit of 45-56+mph extremely poor/no visibility and sleet/hard continuous rain, we called our mountain rescue contact , the advice was for us not to attempt it, safety had to win.

But cancelling the challenge?

That was never the plan.

So, at the eleventh hour, we completely redesigned it.

Ben Nevis became Helvellyn and suddenly the logistics became a challenge of their own.

🏔️ HELVELLYN — 950m
3h 20m up & down.

Then straight back into the vehicles and across to Scafell Pike.

We had just 1.5 HOURS between finishing Helvellyn and starting Scafell.

🏔️ SCAFELL PIKE — 978m
4h 10m up & down.

The summit conditions were brutal. Wind, rain, cloud and almost no visibility. But we regrouped, kept moving and got everybody safely back down.

Then came the drive to Wales.

Tired legs. Middle of the night. Head torches on. Again, the conditions and climb in them were ‘never ending’, trying to summit was all hands and feet to the ground, scrambling up in the dark, over jagged edges and mini waterfalls, the final stretch was again BRUTAL but so amazing.

🏔️ YR WYDDFA / SNOWDON — 1,085m
Night ascent. Sunrise descent.

And finally…

WE WERE DONE.

⏱️ Three mountains inside the 23-hour zone
🥾 Under 12 hours of actual mountain walking
🏔️ 950m + 978m + 1,085m
🤝 One incredible team

And perhaps the number we’re proudest of:

Our original fundraising target was £5,000.

YOU HELPED US RAISE MORE THAN £8,000+ ❤️💛🫶

This wasn’t the National Three Peaks route we’d originally planned and we’re not going to pretend that it was.

It became our challenge.

When circumstances changed, we didn’t bin it. We thought on our feet, redesigned the plan and kept going.

Different route. Same mission.

To every sponsor, supporter, family member and friend who donated, messaged, followed and believed in us:

THANK YOU.

You were with us for every step. ❤️
