Sorry, we simply don’t have room! We understand the need is great but we receive 10-30 stray notifications and surrender requests per week. Unfortunately there are significantly less families applying to foster or adopt vs surrender. We are a volunteer run, foster-home based rescue and do not have a shelter or government funding. There are currently 38 rabbits and 41 guinea pigs in our care, many of whom are seniors and/or special needs. Our priority is providing excellent care for them while they are with us. pennyandwild.org/foster 📍 we are looking for short and long term foster families in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach county. #AdoptDontShop #FosteringSavesLives by @pennyandwildsosfl
Taffy 🍬 also got to meet Dr. Pardini today and surprised us all with her PERFECT smile! 🦷✨ When we first saw her a couple of weeks ago, her bottom incisors weren’t aligning properly (pic in the comments 👇), and we were worried she might be headed down the road of dental trims or even extractions. But in a rare turn of events where things actually went BETTER than expected, her incisors have straightened out all on their own! 👏👏👏 There are still a couple of things we’re keeping an eye on. She has some saliva bubbles and a small lump on the left side of her jaw that we’ll investigate further during her spay. But we’ll happily take this win for now! Next month, once she turns 6 months old, Taffy will be spayed and, hopefully, cleared for adoption! In the meantime, this little cutie is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home. pennyandwild.org/foster pennyandwild.org/adopt/rabbits 📍 Miami-Dade • Broward • Palm Beach #Pennyandwild_Taffy #FosterMe #AdoptMe #AdoptDontShop #FosteringSavesLives by @pennyandwildsosfl
STRUDEL UPDATE!! 🐰♥️ First, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who donated, shared his story, and sent prayers for Strudel. This little guy has an entire army behind him! 💪♥️ Now for the GOOD NEWS 🥁 Strudel is: 🌡️ Maintaining a normal body temperature ✔️ 💩 Pooping and peeing on his own ✔️ 🥬 Eating and drinking VERY enthusiastically! ✔️ 🐇 Remaining upright (with some support) ✔️ These are all things we desperately hoped we’d be able to report today! 🥹 For a bunny who was barely responsive just hours ago, these are incredibly encouraging signs. That said .. it does appear that Strudel has a skull fracture, consistent with the suspected dog attack. The silver lining is that he has no visible puncture wounds or other broken bones but we’re not out of the woods yet. The next 3–5 days are CRITICAL, and things can change quickly. With a traumatic brain injury, our biggest fears are brain swelling and bleeding inside the skull, either of which could cause his condition to deteriorate rapidly. He will remain hospitalized with Dr. Pardini @wildside.vet for close observation and supportive care until at least Friday, possibly through the weekend. But right now? He’s doing BETTER, not worse and we’re choosing to focus on that. Strudel is fighting. We’re fighting right alongside him. And judging by the outpouring of love, so are all of you! Please keep those prayers, positive thoughts, and healing vibes coming. #Pennyandwild_Strudel by @pennyandwildsosfl
🚨 EMERGENCY PLEASE HELP ‼️ It’s 11PM and we’re at VEG ER, holding a bunny we just met to keep him from rolling. This is NOT how we thought we’d be ending our day 😭 Meet Strudel 💔 He was found by a Good Samaritan who rushed him to us so that we could get him to the vet. We suspect he may have been attacked by a dog and has head trauma. Sadly, his prognosis isn’t very good but we’re going to do everything we can to give him a fighting chance. We’re still chipping away at last month’s veterinary bills and now we’re facing another emergency hospitalization. 🚨 PLEASE, IF YOU CAN SPARE $5, $10, $25 or just a prayer. Every bit helps 🙏 💳 checkout.shelterluv.com/donate/PWSR 💲 Zelle: info@pennyandwild.org 💵 CashApp: $SmallsofSouthFlorida #Pennyandwild_Strudel #RabbitRescue #Emergency by @pennyandwildsosfl

Good night everybun 🌙 - Love, Coco Coco is a spayed, 1Y6M old mini lop. Yesterday she went to help fill the Aspen sized void left in his former foster home. She has already asserted bed privileges and paid her foster bunny tax via kisses. pennyandwild.org/adopt/rabbits 📍 Miami-Dade• Broward • West Palm Beach #Pennyandwild_Coco #FosterMe #AdoptMe #AdoptDontShop by @pennyandwildsosfl
Bunny-proofing 101 .. keep electrical cords out of reach! ⚡️ Oreo keeping her foster humble 😂 It’s officially been 1 YEAR since Oreo came into our care in October 2025, and she’s still waiting for a home. She is looking for an experienced family who understand bunny body language and resources guarding behavior in rabbits. She isn’t aggressive .. but she does have strong opinions about her belongings being messed with and has been known to nip when her body language isn’t respected. But underneath that 🌶️ exterior is an incredibly sweet and sensitive bunny who absolutely LOVES head rubs. Oreo just needs someone to give her a chance. Could you be Oreo’s person? 🐰 pennyandwild.org/foster 🏡 pennyandwild.org/adopt/rabbits 📍 Miami-Dade • Broward • West Palm Beach #Pennyandwild_Oreo #AdoptDontShop #FosterMe #AdoptMe #RabbitRescue FosteringSavesLives by @pennyandwildsosfl
💵🐰 $5 FRIDAY NAMING FUNDRAISER! 🐰💵 How it works: • FRI: Donate $5 and suggest a name in the note / comments • SAT: Everyone votes on the suggested names • SUN: Her new name will be announced!! Donate $5 per name entry: 💳 checkout.shelterluv.com/donate/PWSR 💲 Zelle: info@pennyandwild.org 💵 CashApp: $SmallsofSouthFlorida This little cutie, estimated to be just 4–5 months old, was found wandering outside as a stray a few weeks ago. Thankfully, the family who found her agreed to temporarily foster her until we can find a longer-term foster home. We are hoping to raise $100 to cover the cost of her intake wellness exam + fecal (scheduled for 11/4). Any additional funds will go towards her teeth .. because it’s just been that kind of year. We were shocked when we checked this babies teeth and saw she has malocclusion (pic in the comments) 🤦‍♀️we just can’t catch a break with teeth this year. We’re not sure yet if a trim will be enough to correct her bite or if she is on the extractions track. 🏡 FOSTER OR ADOPT: pennyandwild.org/foster pennyandwild.org/adopt/rabbits 📍 Miami-Dade • Broward • West Palm Beach #AdoptDontShop by @pennyandwildsosfl
A few weeks ago, this cutie was found wandering outside as a stray. We think she may be just 4-5 months old! Her finders tried to locate her family, but unfortunately, no one came forward. Thankfully, they agreed to temporarily foster her until we can find a longer-term foster home 💕 But we need YOUR help with something very important .. she needs a name. So tomorrow we’ll be hosting a $5 FRIDAY NAMING FUNDRAISER! For just $5, you can help choose her name while helping us fundraise $100 to cover the cost of her intake wellness exam + fecal. Be sure to come back tomorrow! pennyandwild.org/foster 📍 Miami-Dade • Broward • West Palm Beach #AdoptDontShop #NameTheBunny #RabbitRescue #FosteringSavesLives #RescueRabbit #FiveDollarFriday by @pennyandwildsosfl
Blanche is a 7.5 y/o spayed Californian mix! Her foster family describes her as spunky, curious, and incredibly social. For the first 7 years of her life, she lived in a backyard, spending her nights locked in a hutch. Now, she’s experiencing the comforts of being a free-roam indoor bunny and she is absolutely LOVING it! Blanch is looking for a sanctuary foster or forever home with an angel adopter where she can live out the remainder of her golden years being a spoiled house bunny. Could you be her happily ever after? 🏡 pennyandwild.org/foster pennyandwild.org/adopt/rabbits 📍 Miami-Dade • Broward • Palm Beach #PennyandWild_Blanche #FosterMe #AdoptMe #AdoptDontShop #FosteringSavesLives by @pennyandwildsosfl
