A Cricketer with One Eye, Admired by Fans Who Cannot See. @periyasamy_01 ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿซ‚ Read ๐Ÿ‘‡ ___________________________________ Life really is a circle. For the last 3 years, Iโ€™ve been fortunate to work with both visually impaired athletes and league cricket teams. On 19 March 2026, while working with the visually impaired kids of Poonamallee Blind School, I recorded a small video with two of them. I asked if they followed the TNPL and who their favourite players were. They named a few players, and Periyasamy Anna was one of them. At that time, I didnโ€™t personally know any of the cricketers they mentioned. Fast forward to TNPL 2026. I became the S&C Coach of Madurai Panthers, and Periyasamy Anna was part of our team. One day, while travelling to a match on the team bus, I suddenly remembered that video. I showed it to him and told him about the kids. It was really beautiful โ€” a cricketer with one eye had become an inspiration to visually impaired kids who admired him. He got emotional and immediately wanted to meet them before heading back home after the season. And on 29 August 2026, it happened. I got to make their wish come true. We met not just those two kids, but more than 100 visually impaired children, adults and elderly people. We even played cricket together for a while, and Periyasamy Anna bought snacks for everyone. The circle was completed. From a small video on 19 March to making their wish come true on 29 August. Feeling truly grateful, blessed and immensely satisfied. A day Iโ€™ll always remember. #tnpl #maduraipanthers #cricket #chennai by @periyasamy_01
