POSTS STORIES REELS
✷✷✷ zelda 05.02.18 - 09.10.26 as it's been quite obvious if you've seen my stories lately, my sweet beautiful daughter, soulmate and best buddy passed away in the early morning of this past friday. I've been lucky to steward rabbits through this life for 20 years so far, since I was 8 years old, but I've never had a bond with another creature like I did with zelda. and proof that she was so important to me is she was rarely ever called by her actual name, but instead had the longest list of the silliest nicknames you could ever think of, she was my chicky, icky bicky, peeky pocky, puddleglum, sticken bicken, peepy popper, my bunkin. the list goes on, lol (caption continues as you swipe, it's long!) I adopted her from the oscpa when she was 5 months old, from my job when I worked at petsmart, about a month before my dad died by suicide. even though she was spayed and rabbits generally need the companionship of another rabbit, she never took to being bonded to anyone else but me and that was a privilege I'll keep close to me for the rest of my life. she was there for me through every bad thing I've ever experienced and more, and she was love and safety and comfort and companionship and joy. I sat on the floor so we could eat meals together. we napped together, watched TV together (most recently she fell asleep on my chest while I watched a Lisa Frank documentary), she would lick my neck and face while I tried to do yoga, and chewed my dumbbells when I tried working out. she did laps, of what I think was joy, around my living room the first time she saw a Christmas tree. I would lay in her pen with her in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep, she sat at the end of the hall waiting for me to be done showering, and came running and begged and scrounged around on the floor when I opened the fridge when I was cooking. it seriously got to the point I would leave the fridge open when making meals so she'd leave me tf alone, but how I miss it now!! 8 and a half years was not nearly long enough and her sudden departure has been extremely destabilizing. I wanted so desperately for her to make it to an age where she got old and scruffy, where I'd have to by @permabunny
pigeon babies!!! thank you sm for getting a tattoo ticket of these guys Avery 😭💗 seriously can't get over how awesome these turned out. the placement is so perfect... these were done back in the fall so they're about 7 months healed! for those new here or have forgotten, I sell tattoo tickets for my drawings :-) I have a story highlight with all the info! (the highlight itself is due for a revamp but I'll get to that when I get to it lol) ✷ pigeon design by me, tattoos themselves were not! ✷ ✼✼✼ #permabunnyink #tattoo #blackworktattoo #pigeontattoo #ink by @permabunny
✷ THROWBACK ✷ porcelain zebra in all his many colours!! how's it already been almost a year since I finished this little guy? I'm considering making a sticker sheet of all of these - just one of the many new designs I'm excited about making for y'all. all of these are available on my RedBubble right now tho! (all digital, done in procreate & referenced off of a picture of a childhood figurine. ~40-50 hours put into this piece!) ✼✼✼ #digitalart #procreate #permabunnyink #illustration #ceramicfigure #photorealism #contemporaryart by @permabunny
porcelain donkey graphite and black coloured pencil on paper, 5x7in an experiment:) my process with this one was to lay down a few layers of mechanical pencil, blend it until soft with a blending stump, and then start the figure itself by erasing away the pencil to create the lightest parts & highlights. then I went in with a black coloured pencil for the darkest parts, and an 8B pencil for the midtones (plus the background layers peeking thru) very fun! the background was the only thing that gave me trouble, in the end you can swipe to see what I ended up with but I might tweak it more, remove the star, maybe just keep a gradient. either way! it's so fun to be able to work and rework it, I'm so used to less forgiving mediums like ink and coloured pencil! erase and redraw, erase and redraw... ✼✼✼ #illustration #trinket #porcelain by @permabunny
a classic... I have the intention of making a bunch of new stuff, from originals to sticker designs, that I'll be selling in the coming months to help me pay off some vet bills :-) keep an eye out for that! I have a decent amount of these oval cardboard prices with lovely scalloped edges that were pop-outs from a bunny maze I got for my girls for christmas, been having a lot of fun with them (materials are black prismacolor pencil, tombow marker and white acrylic paint on recycled cardboard) ✷✷✷ #illustration #originalart by @permabunny
so happy to have some of my work included in @easthausgallery's first issue of GUT mag! if you wanna see my entire submission you can buy it through the links on their gallery's profile - there are both physical copies and digital downloads available alyssa (@schadhauser) and drew (@drew_eastwood_art) are wonderful hardworking people with creative vision, and I think you should go and support the magazine and/or their work - I don't think you'll be disappointed also, submissions are open for their second issue and the theme (dreamweaving) is so fun - check out my reposts if you're interested in seeing the open call. I'm definitely submitting some work again this time around ❤︎ by @permabunny
✷ art vs artist 2025 ✷ well. hi! another year where I had to scrounge up whatever I could to fill the grid.. just like last year, I didn't draw a whole lot, but I had (have) a lot of ideas that I hope to bring into fruition in 2026! I can't wait until I have another one like 2023... that was a good year for me.... so cohesive! And I made so much work I had a hard time choosing what to include. that being said, I still had some cool stuff going for me, like a wonderful follower of mine finishing up their half sleeve of my designs and one of my pieces being published in @easthausgallery's GUT mag can't wait to see what happens this year! :-) thanks for sticking around as I slowly thaw out from this looong hiatus I've taken 2025 - 2024 - 2023 - 2022 - winter 2021 - spring 2021 - 2020 - 2019 - 2018 ✼✼✼ #artvsartist2025 #illustrator #canadianartist by @permabunny
a departed childhood friend, for Dana <3 black prismacolor pencil on paper, 17x19.75cm I've been working on this sweet little baby over the past year for an old highschool pal. my pet portrait commissions are few and far in between (and if you're curious, I'm not taking any at the moment!!) but they always push me to my limits and leave me feeling like I've grown in my ability now... I can post my art vs artist 2025 :-) LOL ✼✼✼ #petportrait #illustration #prismacolorpencils by @permabunny
little throwback sketchbook spread in celebration of year of the horse :-) I'm working really hard on finishing up some stuff to post but until then y'all be good ok? ✼✼✼ #yearofthehorse #sketchbookspread #permabunny #drawing #prismacolor by @permabunny
yoooo a sketch dump?! honestly this is pretty much everything I've drawn in all of 2025 that I feel comfortable enough posting other than what I've put up already (which isn't a lot lol) I really hope you enjoy!! some stuff I really like here, some I feel are a bit wonky since I'm so rusty. I miss posting for you all tbh <3 featuring........ ✷ the first piece was done in a mini sketchbook I made from scrap paper and a postcard as the cover. the blue is from paper I dyed with cyanotype chemicals when I visited my pal alyssa in Salem in 2023 (and we got rained on). the background has peach marker but it didn't show up in the scan ✷ an alien looking botanical piece I was fiddling around with using tracing paper to play around with different positions for the leaf ✷ a woven collage thing made from construction paper I drew on when I made a b&w paper chain for my apartment ✷ a little wonky/not totally accurate sketch of alyssa's kitty Bijou that I ref'd from her partners story... (sleepy zzzz bubble inspired by her style) ✷ some still lifes cause that's what I do. and my babies, because that's what I do also. okay bye hopefully I start posting more soon :-) I have a commission I've been working on for two years (!! kinda, I'm just late on it lol) that I'm excited to post hopefully soon... but otherwise I suppose we'll see?! ✼✼✼ #sketchbook #doodle #sketchdump #drawing #prismacolorpencils #tombowmarkers #canadianartist #illustration #sketchbooktour by @permabunny
☘︎ double the luck ☘︎ I've had this tiny original sitting around since spring of 2024!! I just finished painting in a little bit of the background that was left this evening (I realized I hadn't really posted much again this year and wanted to change that!!) black prismacolor pencil and white acrylic paint on recycled cardstock, 5 x 3.75 inches ✼✼✼ #originalart #prismacolorpencils #illustration #queerartist #canadianart #clovers #botanicalillustration #limitedpalette by @permabunny
this is the first time in so long that I've gotten into a true flow state while drawing. feels so good!! I found this monarch two days ago and it had a broken wing at the base - I tried to repair it but I'm not sure if it made it or not. I left it on my mom's hibiscus in the warm sunshine and let nature do the rest.. lyrics from Time to Pretend - MGMT (black prismacolor pencil in my sketchbook) ✼✼✼ #sketchbook #doodle #art #butterfly #monarch #timetopretend #canadianartists #prismacolorpencils by @permabunny
