HOT NEW CASTING UPDATE! Beggar’s Canyon returns for @tosketchfest 2026, but with an all new look! Founded by Ian MacIntyre (@immacintyre) & I, Beggar’s Canyon (@beggarscanyoncomedy) is a charming Toronto-based sketch troupe who delight in delivering fun, clever scenes that spoof pop culture and all its franchise forms. Ian and I have performed together for over 20 years in troupes like the Canadian Comedy Award nominated Approximately 3 Peters and, of course, Beggar’s Canyon - and we loved our return to @tosketchfest in 2025 after a five year performing hiatus and were stoked to go again for #TOSketchfest 2026 – but Ian can’t do the show. I am so honoured to be joined by three Toronto sketch superstars who have been awesome enough to bring their hilarity to the troupe: • NKASI OGBONNAH (Second City), (@nkasiogbonnah) • RACHEL POWELL (Summer Dad), (@crickeett) and • CHRIS JOHNSON (Summer Dad) (@chrisjohnsondoesstuff) This brand new crew will hilariously showcase classic Pete & Ian written sketches with a brand new voice and the same charming, high concept and high energy style Beggar’s Canyon is known(?) for! I honestly cannot wait to perform with them. They’re friendly. They’re funny. This is going to be a good time. AND - we’re sharing the bill with Denver’s hysterical @bigolmesscomedy! WHATTA NIGHT! Saturday, March 7 - 7p (one night only!) Theatre Centre - Incubator 1115 Queen Street West, Toronto Tickets at www.torontosketchfest.com. AND - also check out the team’s other TOSketchfest shows: - Nkasi: Taking Up Space - Thurs Mar 5 & Fri Mar 6 - Rachel & Chris: @summerdadcomedy - Thurs Mar 12 & Fri Mar 13 See link in my bio for tickets to Beggar’s, Nkasi and Summer Dad’s shows! Come to one - COME TO ALL! by @peterjameshill
A certain 5 year old superhero fan went to her first in-theatre “big kid” superhero movie last night. She was super brave in the tense moments and was the only person in the theatre with light-up shoes and a stuffy yelling “It’s clobberin’ time!” when The Thing punched Galactus in the head. by @peterjameshill
Another successful work trip to London, and as per tradition for these work trips to LA and London, treated myself to a show on my last night in town. And ho-lee shit Loki and Agent Carter’s MUCH ADO was a pop cultural charming masterpiece of fun. Big dance party in the audience at curtain call! by @peterjameshill
Annie is dressed for gym day in Junior Kindergarten with her special rock shirt for one of her favourite “daddy bands”. (It was this or her other favourite Joy Division). She loves the Sisters song “This Corrosion”. She picked the colour of shirt (red isn’t goth-aligned but she’s aligned in spirit!) Now all we need to do is get a dry ice machine for the kindie classroom! by @peterjameshill
We're back! After a five year absence from performing, @immacintyre and I are returning as BEGGAR'S CANYON to #tosketchfest for its 20th anniversary! We've been performing sketch together for over 20 years - and this will be our 14th TOSketchfest appearance. We've got a set of weird, dumb old favourites from our time in Approximately 3 Peters and Beggar's Canyon - and we're on the bill with last year's TOSketchfest Producers' Pick Award winner - the incredibly funny Seth K Thomas! Come join us for this special return performance where jeans will be steamed, scotch will be shared, Kool Aid will be drunk, and Gordon Lightfoot returns to the living! And if you can't make it to our show - check out all the other hilarious programming the Festival has on - so many emerging and established comedy artists from Toronto, the rest of Canada and the US with diverse points of view are ready to make you chuckle. Tickets at www.torontosketchfest.com or follow the link in my bio. Friday, Mar 14 - 9p - Theatre Centre! Let's do this! :) by @peterjameshill
