🇨🇦 One jacket, one story, and so much pride! 🥹🔪

Being part of @butcheryteamcanada is already an incredible honour. Having the opportunity to represent my country, inspire the next generation, and help give this amazing profession the recognition it deserves means the world to me! ❤️

Within the team, there’s a beautiful tradition where former members pass down their competition jackets to new recruits, symbolically passing the torch.

And I’ve had the immense honour of receiving the jacket of @petethebutch , founder of Butchery Team Canada, worn during the 2025 @worldbutcherschallenge in Sacramento, California! 🇨🇦

Peter, thank you so much for this meaningful gesture. I’ll wear this jacket with pride and do my very best to honour everything it represents!

Lately, it feels like so many pieces of the puzzle are finally falling into place. But behind every achievement and exciting opportunity, there are countless hours of hard work, doubts, challenges, and moments of questioning yourself.

Nothing happens overnight. You have to keep learning, pushing forward, staying focused, and remembering not to let yourself get overwhelmed along the way.

And most importantly, never forget the power of teamwork, communication, and supporting each other.

Today, I’m simply grateful for everything happening in my life and for the amazing people who are part of this journey.

The adventure is just getting started! ❤️🔪🇨🇦

The passion. The presentation. The hospitality. The support. 👏🥩🔥

I’m incredibly thankful that Meatkingz is trusted by some of the best butcher shops in Canada, and Peter and the team at J&G Quality Meats are a perfect example of why I love doing what I do.

The second you walk up to that counter, you can see the pride Peter puts into his business. The meat presentation is absolutely incredible, the quality speaks for itself, and the loyal following he has built tells you everything you need to know. That kind of support from a community is earned.

But what impressed me just as much was the hospitality. Peter welcomed me like family and showed nothing but support for Meatkingz.

Proud to have our products on a counter like this and even prouder to work alongside passionate business owners like Peter. @jngmeats @petethebutch

If you haven’t been to J&G Quality Meats yet, put it on your list. This is what a great butcher shop looks like. 👑🥩🇨🇦

Thank you Peter and the entire J&G team! 🙏 by @petethebutch

Well it’s that time of year again… Snapping Turtles are laying their eggs in our yard again!!
Built a Turtle Egg Box to protect the eggs from the predators that usually try to dig them up. She picks this same spot every year, lots of sun in this area. And now we wait….. and wait …. and wait.

10 YEARS today!!!! Even though J&G Meats has been a staple in Aldershot since 1962, Keri and I have been its proud owners for the past 10 years today!! So many things have changed and so many things have been the same. Thinking about the past 10 years today has taken me on an emotional roller coaster. So very thankful for all of the people who helped form what our small family business has become, whether they were employees or a customer with a suggestion of a product that they would love to see in our Meat cases!! I’m so very grateful to our past employees who have moved on to the careers that they went to school for and to the ones who are still with us today, they all have a special place in my heart!! I am so grateful for the community support, those customers who believe in small businesses, buying local and creating relationships that help make Aldershot what it is…. a very special place!!!
With that being said, we want to hold a raffle for some fantastic prizes and some gift cards to your favourite Aldershot businesses!!
Come in and fill out a ballot to WIN!!!
The draw will take place on Saturday June 6th on Instagram Live at the end of the day (5:00)
Help celebrate 10 YEARS with us!!

I fancy myself as a “handy” guy but I’m out of my depth with this one. A huge tree came down at my property last year and I was able to save 2 thick slices from the trunk that I wanted to finish as a coffee table or cutting board … I wasn’t sure. Does anyone have any tips on how to plane these down. I have a planer but it’s only 15” wide, these bad boys are at least 36”. Any advice would be appreciated!!
Cheers
Also, if you own a business that does this type of work also let me know. This doesn’t need to be another DIY for me, just thought they’d be cool
