POSTS STORIES REELS

Last week I had the absolute joy of presenting Reinvention Is a Remix @womenwarriorssummit

For over three decades music and movement have been the background to everything I do.

I finally have created the “Signature Talk” that feels like home to me.

This is just the first iteration of what I know will be my work for the next few years.

Thank you to every single audience member, who so joyfully participated in this part of the keynote.

And a huge thank you to @mikeganino who has been working with me on this to get it out into the world.

Let the joy begin. 🪩🎧 by @petrakolber

What do you get when you mix 35 years of your love of movement and music, your keynote speaking business, and your DJ learnings and experiences…..

Well, I am glad you asked 🙂

Introducing Remix The Room™

A few years ago, I decided to learn how to DJ. What I didn’t expect to discover is how much DJing can teach us about reading a room and becoming a more memorable and, let’s be honest, “better” leader.

DJing and the incredible DJ mentors I am working with taught me SO MUCH MORE than how to mix two songs together. AI can do that part, if you really wanted it to. (Which I never will.)

They taught me to pay attention to the energy in a room. To notice when people are with you and when they’re not. To know when to stay with the plan and when to change it. And most of all, to think differently about what makes an experience memorable.

Which means DJing has everything to do with leadership and life.

Introducing REMIX THE ROOM: It brings together the work I’ve spent decades doing around performance, mindset, reinvention, and human connection with this newer part of my world that has taught me so much about energy, music, and creating a moment people can feel.

This reel is a glimpse of where all of that is heading.
And I’m very excited about what comes next.
A huge thank you to the people who helped bring this to life:
Production: @ordinary_visions
Director: @g.e.b.a.r
DP/Color: @andrewjohnston.dp
Editor: @crea8movie
Music: @therustysavage
HMU: @nancynicholsonbeauty
Speaking Coach and Mentor: @mikeganino

Thank you for helping me see this idea more clearly and for helping me put it out into the world.

And all the DJ’s I have worked with and who inspire me including: @djtoddpowers, @djcampowers @djdrewpierce @mikedbabbitt @djtorivee @djnickinell @terriwalsh @therealrons

Here we go. Let the remix begin. by @petrakolber

I’m beyond excited to introduce to you PETRA IN YOUR POCKET. Here is the celebration price right up front:

1 Year: $237
1 quarter: $71

You’ve spent decades taking care of your family, your work, and everyone who needs you.

Now maybe you find yourself asking “What’s next for me?”

You don’t need another wellness app. You need a place that reminds you who you are after putting yourself at the bottom of your to do list.

That’s why I created PETRA IN YOUR POCKET. A positive psychology app created for women in midlife who are ready for what’s next but don’t know where to start.

Inside you’ll find;
⭐️ Daily reminders and practices to help you design a life that energizes and fulfills you
⭐️ Daily mindset minute audio from me to start your day with a boost of confidence
⭐️ Weekly videos from me that dive deeper into that months topic
⭐️ Monthly LIVE Q and A with me on zoom
⭐️ Monthly content and themes all rooted in the science of positive psychology
⭐️ Always my real voice and me on video 🤩

I’d love to see you on this inside and support you on your journey. by @petrakolber

Sometimes the right action is no action.

We live in a world that rewards progress.

Fix it. Change it. Decide. Move on. Reinvent.

But when you are in the middle of a loss, a heartbreak, a major change, or a moment when life suddenly looks nothing like you thought it would, that may be the worst time to make a big decision about what comes next.

Sometimes your job is simply to coast for a little while.

Keep doing the things that keep you steady.

Let your nervous system catch up with what just happened.

Because the decisions we make from the bottom of the dip are often about getting away from pain.

The decisions we make on the uptick can begin to be about moving toward possibility.

Give yourself some runway.

Then, when you begin to feel the slightest lift, a little more energy, a little more like you, make a small move.

Sometimes the best action is no action.

PS: I promise it will get better. Cheering you on. by @petrakolber

Things I’ve been thinking about a lot lately…

What happens when your ambition is still growing, but your runway is getting shorter?

When there is still so much you want to do, make, try, build, grow into.

Where you are willing to be a beginner again, but you also know that there is a little less time to make mistakes and course correct.

If you are like me I’ve been feeling this strange mix of urgency and possibility. And I’m not sure what to do with it - YET!

Maybe we stop treating ambition as something that belongs to people younger than we are?

And maybe a great place to start is to ask:

What do I still want badly enough to begin?

Let me know ⬇️ if this resonates with you and as it’s something I’m interested in diving into 💕

PS: You are doing great. Follow your intuition. It’s just that mine is beginning to change its tone and it’s feeling a little more urgent 💕 by @petrakolber

So this is me in real life. I can no longer wait till everything is perfect before I share. So join me on my journey as I begin to level up my DJ skills and begin to weave in some creativity.
I have a long way to go but I’m starting creating my own remixes. Just tasters that I could add into a set. Not “production” remixes - yet 🤩
1. Song one - Funk Dat @rhythmscholar
2. Song two - Nails, Hips, Hair, Heels @todrick

Let the games begin. Any DJ’s here - give me grace as I learn this. 🪩🎤🎧
No AI will be used in my mixing 💕 by @petrakolber

It was the early 80’s: Perms were the rage, Haircut 100 was on the radio and black eyeliner, a multitude of scarves and parachute pants in every color were in my closet.

This memory got me thinking back to an idea my friend @irisdeapple had shared recently about the question of who would you want with you in the DJ booth? Which is also a similar question as we live our life. Who do you want to be with you on this next part of your journey?

Shout out to two of the best DJ’s back in the day @michaelpaoletta and @patrick1ny

Life is what happens to you when you are busy making plans.
Disclaimer - I am 💯 perfectly healthy
AND I thought I would give you a behind the scenes to my rehearsal process that had a dress rehearsal we’ve never done before.

The opposite if fear is not courage it’s action.
An interaction with a very good looking man last week brought a life lesson to me.

Whether is courage reps, resilience reps, confidence reps or dating reps we can’t think ourselves into action.

⭐️Do the thing that you’ve been avoiding.
⭐️Don’t wait for the perfect time to start.
⭐️That perfect moment will arrive when you least expect it.
⭐️But it will only find you if you are in motion.

You’ve got this.

In a world that trades our attention for our creativity, sometimes the best ideas will be found in the gaps.
The space between thinking and doing.
The space between a question and finding the answer.
The space between your head and your heart.
