Querida Comadre, this living stump is what's left of my Red Maple. I'm going to transform her into a pedestal planter for vertical gardening. What's your winter project? Con cariño, Petra by @petrasalazarpoet

Join us this Thursday for Organizing 101: How to Start a Group, a hands-on 2.5-hour workshop designed to help you build people power and kickstart a grassroots team right where you live.

No previous organizing experience needed—just bring your passion and your ideas!

We’re combining two powerful, community-centered methods—Sociocracy and La Resolana—to teach you how to build a grassroots team rooted in self-governance, meaning the group leads itself from the ground up, not from the top down.

With a Master’s in Education, an MFA in Creative Writing, and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management, Petra Salazar brings a unique blend of pedagogical depth, strategic storytelling, and operational rigor to community leadership. Backed by a decade of hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, Petra specializes in building sustainable systems, fostering meaningful engagement, and leading mission-driven initiatives that turn vision into lasting impact.
