Halloween in Tokyo!! 🦾 Inspired by Cyberpunk2077, I Drew all the cyberware myself with black eyeliner from the convenience store. 😂 A little creativity and a great night out with friends! Definitely an unforgettable night!

Story time! How I met Koji-San! 🇯🇵

So grateful for Koji-San’s kindness and generosity! It’s unexpected friendships like these that make my time in Japan so special. Looking forward to more adventures together!

Also, my fingers were starting to cramp from holding my microphone with chopsticks!
Thanks for watching🔥

Classes at Waseda University are officially in full swing! Between schoolwork, exploring Japan, and adjusting to life here in Tokyo, things have been keeping me pretty busy!

I know it’s been a while since my last video, and I’m sorry for the lack of updates! I’m hoping to get another one out soon, but classes are definitely starting to pick up! 😅

I’m having an amazing time here in Japan, and I can’t wait to see what the next few months have in store!

Thanks for following along on this journey! Stay tuned for more adventures and Japan content coming soon! 🇯🇵✨

I could not stop smiling while making this video.

I met Koji-san by complete chance only 8 days after moving to Japan. A boring morning at the city office somehow turned into one of my favorite days here so far. I’m really grateful I met him. Full story soon.

POV: you find an underground jazz bar in Tokyo 🎷🇯🇵

Live jazz, sake, and one of the coolest atmospheres I’ve found since moving here.

I actually live in Japan now 🇯🇵

The last few days have been absolutely crazy. I’ve basically just been exploring Tokyo, figuring out my dorm, getting ready for classes at Waseda, meeting new people, and trying to use as much Japanese as I can 😂

Still doesn’t really feel real that this is home for the next 11 months.

There’s so much I want to do while I’m here and I’m gonna try to document as much of it as possible.

Only a few days in and I already know this year is gonna be one I’ll never forget.

Japan adventure officially starts now 🇺🇸🇯🇵

Tomorrow, the adventure starts. 🇯🇵✈️

It’s honestly hard to wrap my head around the fact that after years of dreaming about Japan, I’m actually moving to Tokyo for the next 11 months.

Today was a day of lasts—one last workout, one last time playing my piano, one last night in my room, and a lot of difficult goodbyes.

As excited as I am for everything ahead, leaving home is bittersweet. I’m going to dearly miss my three younger brothers, my parents, my friends, my pets, and everyone who has supported this dream of mine along the way. I wouldn’t be getting on that plane tomorrow without all of you. ❤️

There are so many unknowns waiting for me on the other side of the world—new friends, a new university, a new language, new places, and probably plenty of moments where I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.

But that’s part of the adventure.

A chapter of my life ends tonight.

Tomorrow, a new one begins.

行ってきます！🇯🇵

Next stop: Tokyo. 🗼✈️

My Japanese level before moving to Japan 🇯🇵

In just 6 days, I’ll be moving to Tokyo to study abroad at Waseda University!

I’ve been self-studying Japanese for about 2 years, mostly using Anki, YouTube, anime, and lots of practice. I’m definitely not fluent—and I still have a LONG way to go with kanji 😂—but this is where I’m at right now.

I wanted to document my Japanese before leaving so I can come back to this video at the end of my year in Japan and see how much has changed.

Day 0. Let’s see where I’m at a year from now. 🇯🇵

日本にいる皆さん、もしよかったら気軽にDMしてください！日本語を練習したり、一緒に遊んだりできたら嬉しいです！😊🇯🇵

How much does studying abroad at Waseda University for 11 months actually cost? 🇯🇵

Between tuition, housing, flights, food, travel, transportation, and everything else, find out how much I am budgeting for the full year! It’s definitely a major investment. But for the opportunity to live in Tokyo, study at one of Japan’s top universities, improve my Japanese, and travel the country, I believe it’ll be worth it.

Here’s exactly where all that money is going 💴✈️

A lot of people choose to study abroad in places like Europe, Australia, South Korea, or South America.

For me, there was only one place.

🇯🇵 Japan.

This September, I'll be moving to Tokyo to study abroad at Waseda University for an entire academic year. Ever since I seriously started looking into Japan almost two years ago, my excitement has only grown. The more I learned about the country, its culture, and its people, the more confident I became that this was where I wanted to spend my study abroad experience.

Here are my Top 10 Reasons for choosing Japan:

10. Nintendo & Pokémon 🎮
9. My love for traveling 🌍
8. Japanese music 🎵
7. Learning the language 📚
6. The food 🍜
5. Public transportation 🚅
4. Safety 🌃
3. Respect and consideration for others 🤝
2. Anime

Honorable Mention:
⭐ The incredible blend of ancient history and modern technology

#1. Adventure.

At the end of the day, I don't want to spend my life wondering "What if?" I'd rather take the leap, step outside my comfort zone, and experience something completely new. That's exactly what this next chapter is about.

I know Japan, like every country, has its own challenges, imperfections, and cultural differences. This video isn't meant to say Japan is "better" than anywhere else. These are simply the reasons I chose to study abroad there.

As I continue this journey, I want to remain respectful of Japanese culture, keep an open mind, and share both the incredible moments and the challenges honestly.

I'm excited to document every step of this adventure, and I hope you'll come along for the ride.

If you could study abroad anywhere in the world, where would you go? Let me know below! 🌏👇

I still can't believe this is real.

In just over two months, I'll be moving halfway across the world to study abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo.

I'll be documenting everything—from learning Japanese and packing to campus life, travel, and everything in between.

If you've ever dreamed of Japan, come along for the journey. 🇯🇵
