A female patient presented with the chief complaint of improving the appearance of white spot lesions affecting the anterior teeth. Clinical examination revealed multiple enamel demineralisation areas compromising the harmony and aesthetics of the smile. Considering the minimally invasive nature of the lesions and the patient’s aesthetic expectations, resin infiltration treatment with ICON was performed. This approach was selected for its ability to mask white spot lesions while preserving healthy enamel structure, providing an immediate aesthetic improvement through a conservative clinical protocol. A minimally invasive and biomimetic approach for a natural and refined smile enhancement. The postgraduate students in Prosthodontics had the privilege of attending a training session with Dr. Edson da Silva, an experienced dental technician and dentist, internationally recognised for his outstanding work in aesthetic and digital dentistry. During the course, participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of digital smile planning using Digital Smile Design (DSD) and SmileCloud, gaining practical insights into how these innovative tools can improve diagnosis, communication, and treatment planning in contemporary aesthetic dentistry. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Edson da Silva for sharing his knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm with our postgraduate students. #pgprosto #fmdul #prostgraduate #oralrehabilitation #dentistry prosthodontics digitalsmiledesign aestheticdentistry digitaldentistry by @pgprostofmdul
These last weeks have been dedicated to building strong foundations. We kicked off with a Straumann hands-on session guided by @straummangroup_mariaj.raimundo.
