POSTS STORIES REELS

Since today is Halloween, I might as well share this fun series I made years back with my friend Rachel, who was amazing enough to pose with me for this project. The idea was to show a romantic narrative featuring an iconic mask—Ghostface.

It was a challenging shoot since everything was done using the camera’s self-timer. Yes, I played the Scream guy, so I had to compose each shot first, hit the timer, and then run into frame to pose. Back then, I was using just an external flash mounted inside a small octabox, but thanks to the Nikon CLS system, I was able to trigger it off-camera like a studio light. by @photopatrivera

My co-worker Danilo, a fellow artist, once mentioned during one of our conversations that he had made a Minotaur mask years ago that now hung on his wall. The moment he showed me a photo of it, I knew I wanted to photograph it.

The mask became the perfect counterpart to a photo I created with @logantheleo in 2024 entitled Theseus’ Maze. The said piece was inspired by the Greek myth in which Theseus must confront the mighty Minotaur within the labyrinth. I already knew who would be perfect to portray the Minotaur, and I’m glad Jean-Paul agreed to take on the role.

Jean-Paul brought incredible range to the shoot, giving me so much variety in expression and movement, all while barely being able to see through the mask inside the cave. The whole experience felt like stepping into an ancient myth lit by torch and stone dust. by @photopatrivera

I’m so excited to share that I’ll be having my first exhibition in LA on February 20th 6pm at Doma Art Complex

I’ll be showing alongside four incredibly talented artists, and I’ll be presenting two of my portrait series: “Salt and Silence”and “Adhesive Personality.”

This show means so much to me I would truly love to see you there, celebrate, connect, and share this special night together.
