Last year was all about amplifying the right voices. As we move into 2026, we’re keeping that same energy and continuing to document the pieces that make the whole.

We had to take a moment to celebrate the incredible roster of talent, music business professionals and music journalists that graced our pages in 2025. Each name on this list contributed something unique to the scene, and we are grateful to every artist, creative, and visionary who let us tell their story.

Recognising the work and honouring the journey. Let’s see who takes the spotlight this year. 🏆 by @piecesafrica

We’ve been watching lordkez quietly carve her lane, rising with intention, soul, and undeniable talent. Her success right now isn’t a surprise — it’s well earned and deeply deserved. 💫

Listening Closely. Fostering Relations. Together We Grow.

Pieces Africa was born in the silence. Many of you have been with us since the daily Clubhouse sessions and the lockdown rooms where we hosted Recording Academy members and industry titans from across the globe. Back then, we were all searching for mental stimulation and optimism for a post-Covid industry.

That era taught us that when the playing field is levelled, the only thing that matters is the depth of the story and the strength of the community. 🌍

As we move into 2026, integrating Substack into the Pieces Africa ecosystem is a nod to those roots. We’re bringing back that “realness”—the unfiltered, in-depth discussions that a ten-slide carousel simply cannot hold.

We are officially live on Substack. 🧩

Last year was about amplifying the right voices. This year, we’re keeping that same energy and documenting the pieces that make the whole in a place where journalism can truly breathe.

To our core community who have been here since the beginning: thank you for growing with us. To our new followers: welcome to the full picture.
