HOARD DRESS - process photo log I believe what we discard says just as much about ourselves as what we cherish - trash is beautiful and a special thing we should pay attention to. I started to photograph what I found around me, like childhood toys I had to clear out or my father’s decades of tool hoarding. I discovered old massage chair cloths in my basement, with which I created dress pattern pieces. Using broken tools and pieces I collected over time, I sun printed them on top of the fabric with a cyanotype method. With the scrap pieces, I made trash rose to compliment the garbage dress. My goal was to create something of value from trash around me to a higher quality of newly made clothing, most of which is slop pieces made to be trash quickly after. I hope to continue this process of seeking specialness in the seemingly mundane and that it inspires anyone that has thought the same. #cyanotypeprint #circularfashion #diydress #trash by @piercedreverie
