If you accidentally call 911, you aren't in trouble. Just don't make it a mystery!🕵🏻‍♀️👻

Stay on the line and let our telecommunicators know you're OK. Otherwise, they'll need to call you back to make sure you're safe, and they may even send emergency assistance if you don't pick up. ☎️ Staying on the line saves time and keeps resources available for real emergencies.

And if speaking isn't an option during an emergency, you can text 911.

Call if you can. 👉🏼 Text if you can't.

This Fall, help us keep wildlife in our parks wild and do not feed your old pumpkin (or food) to the animals. ❌🎃

Feeding wild animals food they do not normally eat in their natural habitat can make them more aggressive with people and with each other, and can spread disease.

Blood suckers. Dream crushers. Dengue vampires. 🩸😩🦟

Don’t give mosquitoes any treats this Halloween. Spray up before you head out for trick-or-treating with an EPA-registered insect repellent and have a safe and vampire-free Halloween. It’s easier than a wooden stake.

Rain turns household items into mosquito breeding grounds 🌧️🦟

With all the rain we got last week, your yard is ripe for mosquito breeding. But you can fight before they bite! Watch Loman, a member of our Mosquito Control team, show you how items they found on a recent treatment run, like children’s toys, plants and other household items, became massive mosquito breeding grounds.

👉🏼 To prevent mosquitoes around your house and protect yourself and your community, take the time to dump out standing water around your house at least once per week. by @pinellasgov

Heading to the stadium? 🏈 Don't forget the defense!

If you’re going to a big game this fall, make sure you’re defending yourself from mosquitoes by using bug spray or wearing long-sleeves, pants, socks and close-toed shoes.

And don’t forget to protect your homefield advantage over these mosquitoes by dumping out standing water to keep your backyard from becoming a mosquito breeding ground.
