Where’s the best fall golf on the east coast? Asking for a friend.

A day at @rodeodunes

I FINALLY got around to editing these photos from our day trip to @rodeodunes

What an experience

Bag Placement.

One of the most strategic things you can do when walking a golf course.

You don’t need to carry your bag to every green or every tee box. Think one step ahead and consider where you can place your bag to make the walk to the next hole easier.

A little planning goes a long way, especially when you’re walking 18 holes. Save your steps, conserve your energy, and enjoy the walk!

Dirt roads, drop kicks, and dinner bells. A little bit of everything at @rodeodunes

Low key. I hope they keep the dirt road coming in, I know the staff hates a dirty car, but it gives Rodeo Dunes that ruggedness you expect.

Rodeo Dunes

I’ve never been more excited to see a golf course before it opens to the general public.

As golfers, we sometimes romanticize a place in our heads because of its exclusivity. But @rodeodunes is everything you think it is. An incredible walk, a challenging yet fun golf course, and a ruggedness that I’ve only ever experienced at Brambles.

One topic that kept coming up as we walked the course was trying to find a comparison. It’s a little like Ballyneal, but different. It has hints of Trails, and parts of it reminded me of Southwest Ireland and some of the courses in Scotland.

At the end of the day, Rodeo Dunes is its own thing, and that’s what makes it so special.

Many more photos and post to come, but I wanted to get my initial post out. A big thank you to the RD Team. You all created a special day.

Now, what questions do you have?

Sneak peek at @rodeodunes

For those planning a trip, my number one recommendation is to be comfortable.

I specifically went with my @kjus gear because I knew I could count on it.

Fit Check:

Polo: KJUS Lee Stripe
Pants: KJUS Iver 5-Pocket
Shoes: FJ
Hat: @theredanclub

If you decide to go down the KJUS road, two things:

1. You won’t regret it.
2. Use my code to save some money!

Why as golfers do we gravitate towards navy?

In the Bay Area, the weather can flip quickly—especially up at @stonebraecc .

That’s why having a piece like the Gemini Vest is clutch. A 10-degree temperature swing? Just reverse the vest and you’re set, keeping you comfortable no matter how quickly the weather changes.

With fall coming around, this is the perfect piece to layer over any long-sleeve @kjus polo.

Use code KBI_BartelsFW26 for some savings on this must-own vest.

I’ve had the privilege of calling @stonebraecc home for about four years now.

If you’re not familiar with the Brae, it’s a David McLay Kidd course tucked into the Hayward Hills. There are so many longtime East Bay residents who have never had the chance to play it, and when they finally do, they’re always taken aback by the views and the course itself.

It’s a pretty special place to call home.

If you’ve had a chance to play the Brae, what did you think?

Last weekend, I had the privilege of shooting my fourth Highlander, @stonebraecc Member/Guest event. I figured it was the perfect time to bust out the @ricoh_gr_official GRIII and really put it to work.

This little pocket banger is a lot of fun. I’ve really enjoyed shooting with it. There’s something to be said about a fixed-lens camera that forces you to slow down, think a little more, and really focus on composition.

Massive fan of this camera.
