Just what we needed- a good ol fashioned Halloween Party! Thank you so much to everyone who came out, dressed up, laughed, screamed, and got some advice from the Oracle 🔮

Filling our little shop up with the wild and weird brought a lot of joy!!! Happy Halloween!

If you have questions about Thomas’s incredible costume- same. But what we can tell you is that he had been crafting it by hand with a 3D pen and other objects for months, it had over 5 additional “tools”(?) and we’ve never seen 6 your olds more in awe 😱👻

A lifetime in the garden. A practice built on experience.

For Thomas Baker-Rabe, horticulture began in childhood, growing plants in Ojai and learning from our grandfather, Jack Baker—a local artist and avid gardener whose extraordinary subtropical garden was featured in Architectural Digest in 1989.

That foundation grew into a career in professional horticulture, including his time as the cactus and succulent gardener at Lotusland in Montecito.

Today, Thomas brings that experience to Plant Shop 805 and Arch Rock Aloes, cultivating rare plants, developing original Aloe hybrids, and exploring the sculptural forms and textures of desert and subtropical species.

From our family’s garden history to our growing work here in Ventura, we’re proud to carry this knowledge forward through thoughtful cultivation and a deep appreciation for the plants that make a landscape memorable.
