Button sorting ~ Here’s a simple, hands-on counting and sorting activity using colorful buttons. Using everyday items like buttons turns early math into a fun experience, perfect for fine motor skills and early math concepts! 💕 Save for later! 🙂 by @play_with_mummy
Trip to @sovereignhill ~ We took our 3 musketeers and cousins for 1850s adventure to Sovereign Hills. It’s safe to say gold fever took over and my 10yo was just not ready to leave the creek! From gold panning in the creek and underground mine to roaming around the streets and buildings, visiting the shops, watching marching soldiers, horses, donkies, crafting and playing around at the park - every minute kept all 5 kids completely hooked! Ask us if we’re rich yet... (spoiler: we left with a tiny bottle of gold flakes purchased from the Waterloo Store and big smiles). The daytrip is definitely worth it! Dont forget to pack extra pair of socks for the littles as the gold panning gets exciting at the creek 😅 and oh yes, lots of snacks will be a plus 😉 by @play_with_mummy
Corn Trail Adventure ~ This chicken needs to get back to its eggs. Ask the children to feed it so it can follow the trail to its coop. 1️⃣ Prepare the scene Draw a hen on side and coop on the other and connect both with a path 2️⃣ Add kernels Children can trace the path with their fingers, add kernels on the path and count along (children can count as far as they know and adults can do the rest) . 💕Save for later! 🙂 by @play_with_mummy
Dots and numbers ~ A super easy, low-prep preschool math game to build number confidence! This simple activity helps little ones connect numbers with real quantities while building essential early math skills! How to Play: 1️⃣ Prepare: Divide a sheet of paper into a grid. Write numbers (can be a few or more depending on child's age) on post its and draw corresponding dots in the grid 2️⃣ Play: Have your child count the dots in a box, find the numbers on sticky notes and match it to the dots. Repeat for all boxes on the grid. 💕 Save for later! 🙂 by @play_with_mummy
My almost 4yo's drawing of himself ... it is just beautiful as to how his images have evolved from mark makings to vague shapes to stick figures without heads or hands or feet to this one. Needless to say, I have loved each one of them 🥰 Children are such wonders ❤️ by @play_with_mummy
Cooking ~ A little invitation to play that my little chef really enjoyed and kept going back to the whole day and the next too! I think having a variety of textures and colors to play with was quite engaging. Lots of measuring, counting, pouring, scooping and mixing happened to create food for mummy 🥰 You can bring out some rice, beans or lentils from the pantry and add in some small pots ,bowls and spoons - whatever is available, your toddler or preschooler will love it! . 💕Save for later!🙂 by @play_with_mummy
Tree craft ~ A simple craft using colored paper for leaf cutouts, glue and a tree drawn on a large sheet of paper. We are in mid Spring here in Melbourne so lots of green for us but this can be a great Autumn craft too with lots of red and orange leaves . 💕Save for later! 🙂 by @play_with_mummy
Sea world sensory play ~ Shaving foam, food color and sea animals toys along with spoon and pots kept my little one busy for the longest time! The foam was al over the place eventually (good thing I took this play outside 😁) and even used it to give our tractor a good wash (swipe to see in the last picture) . 💕Save for later! 😊 by @play_with_mummy
Doctor role play ~ I did this little invitation for role play for my little one, who is almost 4. He was quite excited to see some real life props like bandages, scissors, torch, gloves, hot water bag. His favorite part was scooping out the pills (black beans) in little cups and handing them to the patient (me - hence why I couldnt take many pictures). He did a lot of mark making with prescriptions and he learnt to say 'prescription' and what it means. I love how role play helps in language development 😃 . 💕Save for later! 🙂 by @play_with_mummy
Process art with nature items ~ I collected some nature items while out for a little walk and created this open ended invitation for Mr almost 4yo to explore and create. We identified the various objects, felt the textures, made prints, he painted with some and painted on the others, concluding with painting his hand and making a handprint for signature 😉 . 💕 Save for later! 🙂 by @play_with_mummy
Robot ~ Turned Mr 3.5 yo into a robot using cardboard box, butcher paper and bit and bobs to add details. He enjoyed making it and then wearing it too 😄 . 💕Save for later! 😊 by @play_with_mummy
