We can help make your gig much less stressful for you. ❤️ One less thing to be anxious about. silke@pocomoto.co.nz by @poco.moto
Memory Mednesday! This photo was taken in February 2013 in Wainuiomata. It was raining, it was 2*C and I was on night duties at Camp A Low Hum, welcoming and checking in late arrivals. February - I was not prepared in any sort of way for it to be 2*C. Rain - fine - but the freezing cold, nope! That made it one of the hardest jobs I've ever done. Now we know it gets freezing cold at night in the middle of summer - it's in the mountains, after all, and it was absolutely sweltering in the daytime! But holy heck, that night shift, that wasn't pleasant - everything was wet and cold! The people who lived on site brought me a cup of tea which I gratefully accepted. There's also a vague memory of a well-under-age guy kissing me on the lips, which was pretty much a hard no, a vehement "fuck off" sort of situation. Blergh, what the fuck, must've had a mummy complex! 🤣 Work at events, for all the strange life experiences! by @poco.moto
With it being political times, I'd love to point out a variety of political paraphernalia you can get on my website, be it raging woke lefty-type bits and bops, stuff for pride whānau and allies, feminists, greenies etc etc. ❤️ https://pocomoto.co.nz/product-category/themes/raging-lefties/ You can even buy bling that indicates where you stand on the ongoing genocide committed by Israel with all proceeds going towards anti-genocide charities. Is it going to swing auntie to vote compassionately? Probably not. But at least you can mark yourself as part of the tribe of people trying to be on the right side of history. 😔🫰 by @poco.moto
It's only the best line-up Cross St Festival has ever had. Later this month, but get a ticket now before it sells out! Right by the train station, too! Go to CROSS STREET MUSIC FESTIVAL/ CROSS STREET MUSIC FESTIVALto find a link to the tickets (if FB lets me, it'll be in the comments!) - but follow those profiles as well, because why not, right? by @poco.moto
One of my favourite ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ quotes because I often try to explain to people new to Poco Moto earplugs that you forget they're even there, to a point when you pull them out, like Karen did, and go, WOAH, THEY DO WORK! They work very well. They make gigs sound better, but at a much more healthy volume level. Still loud and fun, but not shooting your hearing. Google Poco Moto Earplugs or follow the links on my profile to my website. If you see this on FB, there may be a link below in the comments. by @poco.moto
If you're not busy, I'd like to direct your attention to this goodie for a moment. Mental Health Awareness Gig 2026 has been running for nearly 20 years, and it's always been a warm and fuzzy community event, in recent times held at Ponsonby Baptist Church on Jervois Rd. I've done some digital work for this year's instalment, and basically, in one last hurrah, I'm letting you know here, so you now know, too. From newcomers to bonafide legends, there's something for everyone at this gig, musically. A koha entrance fee will also include shared kai for dinner, and the location is absolutely stunning, and welcoming. All Ages, too. ❤️ by @poco.moto
Memory Mednesday! Speaking of photos that only exist because I wanted to be mean, this is one of them. Both of my sisters had a crush on the singer of German band The Bates, and one day, I ran into him. I look at that photo and all I see is me being a terrible human being, haha! That was quite a cool day. When that photo was taken, I also met Nina Hagen and a guy called Harald Gott, who had a few huge hits in Germany including the theme for toon series Die Biene Maja - classic! A few years later from when this photo was taken (I'm 14 in the photo) I ran into a bunch of girls who were keen to go to a ton of gigs, and asked if I wanted to come along, so I did, and I ended up seeing The Bates easily 30 times across Germany. Some (but not all) of my friends were groupies, I was but a naive thing who really liked music and concerts, especially poppier punk, which then introduced me to more political and indie punk, and ultimately I ended up making a living with music and events. Here in NZ I've now run twice into people from the touirng company who were running those tours by The Bates back in the day, but never the ones I'd encounter then. I did meet some truly lovely people in those days, very special. I also met some real fucking arseholes, and I still don't get what even was wrong with them. I was never a reason to cause jealousy, I was never competing for attention, I was present, I observed, I laughed and danced and chit-chatted... I clearly wasn't even in the market for anything but the rock'n'roll part of "sex and drugs and..." The Bates, btw, sang mostly in English, and genuinely every single song is a certified sing-along banger. Zimbl, who is pictured here, is long dead now. A lot of other people who I adored from that time are dead, too. Lovely Basti S, who was in one of the support bands, was a real favourite that I had brilliant conversations with at the time, and he'd make me do stuff I'd never dare to do myself, like literally ballroom dance across the whole venue to The Bates' song Donna Clara in Oberhausen one time. Such a fond memory, and I still can't wrap my head around him being gone. by @poco.moto
Let's do another one! Always a joy to work at Silent Studios, and this one seems to be quite Germanic. Janein is a great DJ name! Anyways, you've been thereby warned that this event will happen, and I might see you there, or not! :) Tickets via Silent Studios - follow the link in the graphic for more info. Sorry, got to type it because FB wants me to pay to add links to posts and I just won't. 🌞 by @poco.moto

Back on Tuesday, as every week, your trusty spot to get some life admin done in friendly company of like-minded people is back at the Gribblehirst Community Hub /@gribblehirsthub - 6-8pm! ❤️ BYO device.❤️ by @poco.moto
Thanks to all of you lovelies who tagged me in posts for that seemingly very loud gig at Spark Arena. Yikes! I'm glad you were all okay! ⭐ For the ones of you who are in the market, Pocos are great for loud shows, better, in fact, than bigger brands with much higher recognition, and they also come with a soft cord as well as a super-durable aluminium keychain container so you'll always have them with you when you need them. They're literally for concerts, not building sites or working at the airport. Those are different sounds - some we want to block out entirely, others we just want to feel and enjoy - just more safely. Pocos support the latter. ❤️ Will link to them below on FB, and if you see this on IG, they're linked in my bio! by @poco.moto
A quick look into the future! December 5, Mothership - the Auckland Ska Festival - a local staple of good times! by @poco.moto
