Exploring a slice of Costa Rica heaven has never been easier. As your personal host, I’ll curate everything—boating, hiking, daily yoga, waterfalls, home cooked meals, and plenty of downtime. Come experience this Blue Zone and let me handle the details. Up to four guests, you’ll stay in our beautiful home on 23-acres of lush jungle, only 10 minutes to the beach, and a short drive to fun day trips! Saltwater infinity pool, 2 large bedrooms/2 baths, private outdoor shower options, meditation deck, morning coffee with the howler monkeys, and plenty of wildlife sightseeing off the back porch! I’m Misty, and I’d love to be your host! by @pocococoretreats

Whale watching season in Tambor, Costa Rica, marks one of the best times to be on the water 🐳 August-October is peak season for mothers and calves entering the calm waters of the gulf. by @pocococoretreats

When was your last time opening a Coconut 🥥 by @pocococoretreats

One of the best ways to explore the Nicoya Peninsula is by water, and lucky for us, we have the best local marine-expert Captain there is! This week we cruised past jungle-covered coastlines, watched spider monkeys leap through the trees on Spider Monkey Island, watched a giant pod of spotted dolphins race alongside our boat, snorkled in the bluest waters with angle fish, sardines and other fishes, and even caught the breathtaking sight of flying stingrays gliding across the ocean’s surface.
One of my favorite moments was stopping at a tiny, secluded beach tucked inside the Curú National Wildlife Refuge—known affectionately by local captains as “Single Palm Island.” Just one palm tree, turquoise water, and the kind of silence that reminds you how wild Costa Rica still is.
No whales this time (their peak season is July through October, with another smaller migration from December through March), but that’s the beauty of the ocean—you never know what it has in store. Every trip is completely different, and every trip leaves you in awe.
This is one of my favorite adventures to share with Poco Coco Retreat guests because it’s so much more than a boat ride. It’s a front-row seat to Costa Rica’s wild side. 🌴🌊🐬 by @pocococoretreats

Crafting chocolate and learning about the Cacao plant, farmers and the indigenous community… this was our beautiful morning at @indigenacafe in Cabuya, Costa Rica! Giovanni is one of the most passionate craftsmen we’ve ever met—so much knowledge and even more love! A Poco Coco Retreats MUST! (plus real, amazing chocolate to take home🍫) by @pocococoretreats

The Poco Coco Retreats experience is more than nature, yoga and healthy meals.
✨It’s about breaking down barriers.
✨Facing fears.
✨Stepping beyond your comfort zone.
✨And surrendering to the magic that unfolds when you do. 🔮 by @pocococoretreats

Spider monkey families monkeying around and thriving on Isla Nancital 🇨🇷🐒
In an effort to help their species thrive, two distinct families of black-handed spider monkeys were placed on Isla Nancital. So far they are successfully reproducing and raising healthy newborns on the island, but they still face environmental challenges. Many thanks to Captain Lucas and Captain Andrés for always giving us an educational and fun day on the water. by @pocococoretreats
