70.3 Belgrade bike splits 📈 What if the watch tells you you’re 3bpm higher than your race intensity? What if it tells you the morning of the race that you’re overtrained and had the worst sleep ever? What if you lose your watch in the water midway through the swim? What if your power meter didn’t sync with your garmin? What if your heart rate belt or watch shows you 203bpm all along the course? You need to teach your body to feel the intensity. Know exactly what’s going on when it starts to hurt. And how long more you can hold it there. Start with smaller distances, and build it up till half or full Ironman course. Just make sure you include this into your trainings - weekly! Last month was the month I progressed the most (ever) why? I have no idea. But apart from being consistent, training without the watch made me go EASY on easy days, and HARD on hard days. Don’t do this by yourself. Talk to your coach about it, and get proper instructions on how to start. An easy way to get started is to tape your watch and go on a long run. You still have the data for later, but you’re able to develop that feeling that is much more important than pace, power, speed, HR, …. Or… long story short: don’t forget your watch 😂😂😂!!!! by @pontesmhp
Want to get faster? Stop focusing only on the bike. You account for around 80% of total drag, making your body position the biggest factor in aerodynamics 🤯 Recording yourself on the indoor trainer is one of the most efficient ways to improve your posture, see how aero you truly are, and make sure your setup allows you to: - push your target power - BREATHE - see the road (more than 5m ahead of you) - handle the bike safely - hold that position for 98% of the ride! by @pontesmhp
Brick by brick 🧱🦅 Two weeks already from the 70.3 Belgrade! The energy of the finish line keeps driving me into two last fun weeks of trainings before the last dance under the Portuguese sun this year 😎 Another race with the best nutrition products and advice from @fitdoheem ! 🤝🏼 by @pontesmhp
Where’s my baby? 🫢🥲 by @pontesmhp
All intensities are MAXIMAL! 🔥🤝 I wish I knew this when I started training! Zone 2 is the excuse of the constantly tired and insecure athlete. It obviously has its place in training, BUT don’t expect to get actually get faster only by doing low intensity work. Strength is only a problem when it’s not enough! The strong, smart athlete NEVER gets injured! Here I go into another training block, training every day as if it would be my last 🏆📈 giving the German engineers a hard time on each interval session as I try to break my crank (once again), bend my frame, and burn my cassette 🔪🦅 “Any failure before death is psychological” . And broooo, I am alive, thirsty, and not planning on living this game! #fullspeedfriday by @pontesmhp
