📍Cascade Canyon Trail, Grand Teton NP 🫎 🗺️ LOCATION Teton Park Road in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming - a 35 minute drive from the town of Jackson 🥾 OPTIONS FOR HIKING 1️⃣ Catch the Jenny Lake Ferry* both directions and hike Cascade Canyon to Lake Solitude & back (14.7 miles, 2400 feet elevation gain) 2️⃣ Skip the ferry & hike Cascade Canyon to Lake Solitude and back, starting at Jenny Lake (18 miles + 2750 feet elevation gain). Note that we hiked 19 miles total because we walked to the backside of Lake Solitude. 3️⃣ Start & end at String Lake, hike up Paintbrush Canyon and down Cascade Canyon (19 miles + 4200 feet elevation gain) *Look up opening times for the Jenny Lake Ferry before going because it changes seasonally 🌲 EASIER ALTERNATIVE Catch the Jenny Lake Ferry and hike to Hidden Falls + Inspiration Point (1.8 miles + 400 feet of elevation gain) 🗓️ BEST TIME OF YEAR I have hiked this trail in both summer (July) and fall (September) and recommend both times of year. Anytime that the trail is snow free is perfect. You can check trail reports & conditions on apps like AllTrails, and don’t be shy to speak to a ranger at the park visitor center 🎟️ ENTRANCE FEE You need a permit to enter Grand Teton National Park and this can be purchased at park entrance stations. Save these 5 must-see stops across Yellowstone and Grand Teton for your summer trip ⬇️ If you’ve never been to either park before, these places are good starting points for your trip, and super photogenic. 1. Morning Glory Pool (Yellowstone) One of Yellowstone’s most famous hot springs located along the Upper Geyser Basin boardwalk near Old Faithful. The short walk is mostly flat and easy. Colors change depending on microbial activity and water temperature, so expect vivid blues, yellows, and greens on clear days. 2. Artist Point (Yellowstone) The classic overlook of Lower Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Easily accessible from the parking lot with a short paved walk. Best light is late afternoon to sunset when the canyon walls glow. 3. Mormon Row (Grand Teton) Historic barns set against the jagged Teton Range, making this one of the most photographed spots in the U.S. Sunrise is ideal when alpenglow hits the peaks and the valley is calm.
