Letters Live is a staged reading show of literary correspondence. It was created and developed in 2013 by independent publishing house Canongate Books in partnership with production company SunnyMarch.[1] During the shows, actors read interesting, funny, or dramatic letters to the audienceLetters Live events have taken place in a wide range of venues and locations since its inception. While these events have primarily taken place in the United Kingdom, it has also been performed in other countries, including the United States.
In these lines—translated as "How can I promise to be yours, when I am never even my own?"—the poet expresses a profound sense of vulnerability and a lack of control over their own destiny. Rather than making a clichéd, empty romantic promise, the poet offers brutal honesty, confessing that their heart, mind, and life are constantly swayed by circumstances, fate, or inner restlessness. They are essentially saying that it is impossible to pledge themselves to someone else when they do not fully possess or control their own fragmented identity, highlighting the deep philosophical truth that you cannot give someone a "self" that you do not truly own.
POET- Waseem Barelvi (born Zahid Hasan in 1940 in Bareilly, India) is a highly celebrated contemporary Urdu poet and a commanding presence in global mushairas (poetic symposiums), renowned for his ability to weave profound philosophical truths and deep human emotions into incredibly accessible language. A former Professor of Urdu at Rohilkhand University and past Vice Chairman of the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), he has dedicated his life to the preservation and enrichment of Urdu literature. His significant contributions to poetry have earned him numerous prestigious honors, including the Firaq Gorakhpuri Award, the Kalidas Samman, and the Mir Taqi Mir Award. Barelvi's literary legacy is anchored in his masterful ghazals, which beautifully capture the delicate complexities of love, sorrow, and societal realities, immortalized in his famous published collections such as Tabassum-e-Gham, Aankh Aansoo Hui, Mizaaj, and Aansu Mere Daman Mein.

Aladdin (/əˈlædɪn/ ə-LAD-in; Arabic: علاء الدين, romanized: ʻAlāʼu d-Dīn/ʻAlāʼ ad-Dīn, IPA: [ʕalaːʔ adˈdiːn], ATU 561, 'Aladdin') is a Middle-Eastern folk tale. It is one of the best-known tales associated with One Thousand and One Nights (often known in English as The Arabian Nights), despite not being part of the original text; it was added by the Frenchman Antoine Galland, based on a folk tale that he heard from the Syrian storyteller Hanna Diyab.[1]
