✨ Psychedelics & the Reimagining of Aging ✨ What if getting older could open the door to something new? Join Portland Psychedelic Society for a lively, thoughtful, and yes, fun conversation about psychedelics, aging, and the many ways we might reimagine what it means to grow older. Older adults are increasingly becoming part of the psychedelic conversation. What’s behind that growing curiosity? What might psychedelic experiences offer as we navigate life’s later chapters? And could psychedelics change the way we think about aging itself? We’ve gathered three fascinating voices for the conversation: 🌿 Abbie Rosner is a baby boomer and writer exploring how older adults are revisiting the drugs of our youth in new ways. Her new book, Psychedelics and the Counterculture of Aging, documents older adults using psychedelics for individual and collective transformation. She also writes The ELDEREVOLUTION Newsletter on Substack. 🌿 Phyllis Moses is dedicated to helping individuals discover their own resources for growth and healing. 🌿 Steve Rosonke, MD, is the founder of Rainfall Medicine, a ketamine center for consciousness and healing. He has also trained with Indigenous healers around the globe. Come hear their perspectives, bring your questions, and explore the possibilities of aging, health, and meaning together. 📅 Monday, November 9 📍 Alberta Rose Theatre Doors open: 6:00 PM Program begins: 7:00 PM 🎟️ Tickets: See Linktree in our BIO! by @portlandpsychedelic

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN PSYCHEDELIC RESEARCH & OREGON’S REGULATED MODEL | Thursday, October 29 | 6:30-8:30 | Doors open at 6:00 | 8210 SE 13th Ave in Sellwood All eyes continue to focus on Oregon as a leader in the use of psilocybin as a tool for healing and wellness. A recent study unveiled at an invitation-only event at OHSU received national attention. PPS is excited to offer a public opportunity to hear from those same experts. Please join us at this special event to hear from ANGELA ALLBEE, Manager of Oregon Health Authority’s Medical Cannabis & Psilocybin section and ADIE RAE WILSON-POE, PhD, Legacy researcher and Co-Director of Open Psychedelic Evaluation Nexus (OPEN). Although Oregon’s regulated model of providing facilitated psilocybin experiences is a formal and expensive process, it has opened doors and opened minds for more than 20,000 people that may not have otherwise ever come no understand the power and beauty of psychedelics for healing, wellness, and expanded consciousness. Please join us to hear the latest on the public research and continue the conversation about how our community can support the growing expansion of the psychedelic movement. Portland just made natural psychedel*cs its lowest law enforcement priority. 🌿 On Sept. 30, the Portland City Council voted unanimously to pass Ordinance 2026-186, deprioritizing the personal use, cultivation, and non-commercial sharing of plant medicines like psilocyb* mushr00ms and ayahua$ca. What it’s NOT: legalization. Peyote, commercial sales outside Oregon’s regulated program, impaired driving, and workplace violations are still fully enforced, and state law still comes first. Plus: why the Oregon Health Authority backed off doubling psilocyb*n licensing fees, and what the industry has to prove before the 2027 legislative session. 📖 Read the full article at the link in @psychedelicamericas bio by @portlandpsychedelic
WE DID IT, PORTLAND! 🎉 After years of organizing, coalition-building, public testimony, and work behind the scenes, the Portland Psychedelic Health & Safety Act has passed Portland City Council. The Act makes the personal, noncommercial use of naturally occurring psychedelics one of Portland’s lowest law-enforcement priorities. It does not legalize or decriminalize psychedelics, or change state or federal law, but it creates greater clarity around the city’s approach to personal use. This moment was built by a community that kept showing up: advocates, facilitators, researchers, mental health professionals, veterans, community members, volunteers, donors, and so many others who shared their voices and experiences. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. We’re taking a moment to celebrate, and then we keep going. 🌱 We did it, Portland. by @portlandpsychedelic
BREAKING NEWS: Portland City Council has unanimously passed Ordinance 2026-186, making the non-commercial personal use of natural psychedelics a low law-enforcement priority in the City of Portland. As a military veteran and licensed psilocybin facilitator, I’m incredibly proud to see Portland take this step. Veterans, first responders, and everyday citizens seeking healing should not have to live in fear of criminalization for exploring psychedelic medicines with growing scientific evidence supporting their therapeutic potential. This is a meaningful step toward reducing stigma and approaching psychedelics through the lens of health, healing, harm reduction, and personal choice. Congrats everyone! And thank you to @portlandpsychedelic by @portlandpsychedelic

PPS’s Paths to Integration presents “Conscious Re-Imprinting” Wednesday, September 23rd  6:00–8:00 PM The Haven » 2505 NE Pacific St. Next week’s Paths to Integration features Conscious Re-Imprinting: An Individualized Experiential Approach to Psychedelic Integration, an interactive exploration of how profound psychedelic experiences can be consciously carried forward into everyday life. Drawing from the 8-Circuit model and ideas around metaprogramming, the evening will explore how we recognize the patterns and assumptions shaping our experience, and what it might mean to intentionally work with or revise them after a meaningful psychedelic experience. Dr. Doug Wingate is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, licensed acupuncturist, and co-founder of 7 Gates Sanctuary, a licensed psilocybin service center. Certified in somatic psychedelic integration, he brings a background in integrative medicine, neuroplasticity, trauma, consciousness, and psychedelic-assisted healing to this experiential workshop. 🔗 RSVP through the link in our bio! » #portlandoregon #findtheothers #pdxevents #pdxcommunity #plantmedicine by @portlandpsychedelic
We often get asked, “what can I do to help our local psychedelic community?” Well, now is the time to show up! We’re super excited to share that the local policy a subset of our community has been collaborating on, the Portland Psychedelic Health & Safety Act, is officially heading to Portland City Council next week! 📣 The Portland City Council meeting has been scheduled for September 23rd from 9:30am-12:30pm (1221 SW Fourth Avenue). 📣 Please save the date to come out to the Portland City Council meeting and show your support! WEAR GREEN to visually be a part of our group. 💚 Filling the room for this policy will help demonstrate to City Council members that people care about this important community health initiative.   🤝 Other ways to take action: 1. Show up to City Council Meeting and wear green 2. Use the QR code in this post to endorse the act (and share it to help spread the word!) 3. Come to our Community Salon at The Haven on 9/16 from 6-8pm to connect and mingle with PPS leaders and other advocates. Where the policy currently stands: • The Community & Public Safety committee approved the policy via vote on 8/4/26, and it is now headed to the full Portland City Council for vote – the final stage in this process • The policy still focuses on deprioritization of natural psychedelics by making them a low priority for law enforcement in Portland, Oregon (note: this is not decriminalization) • The Community & Public Safety committee voted in an amendment to remove the advisory commission that was originally a part of this policy, due to the anticipated cost of running the advisory commission Once again, thank you for your continued support for our community. Just like a mycelial web, when we stand up together our efforts are even stronger! » #portlandoregon #pdxnow #plantmedicine #naturalmedicine #pdxevents by @portlandpsychedelic
“Find the Others” at the PPS Community Salon next Wednesday, September 16! The Community Salon is an open, unstructured community gathering designed to foster relaxed connection, conversation, and belonging in a welcoming social atmosphere. Think of it as a psych*d*lic community “third space” with café-style hours where you can drop in, meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and stay as long as you’d like. Bring a friend, settle in with a book or game, spark a conversation, or organically gather with others around shared interests and ideas. Unlike our more structured educational programming, the Community Salon emphasizes informal connection, recurring community culture, and the simple value of gathering together in shared space. Doors open at 6pm. Feel free to arrive when you can and stay as long as you’d like. Pre-registration encouraged at the Upcoming Events link in our bio. Wednesday, September 16 6:00 - 10:00 PM (drop in anytime) The Haven » 2505 NE Pacific St. » #portlandoregon #findtheothers #pdxevents #pdxcommunity #plantmedicine by @portlandpsychedelic
🔔 SEPTEMBER 9 CITY COUNCIL HEARING POSTPONED The Portland Psychedelic Health & Safety Act has been removed from the September 9 City Council agenda due to other pressing matters before Council.

This scheduling change is outside of our control, and we do not yet have a new confirmed date. We’ve been told the ordinance will likely return within the next couple of Council meetings, potentially later this month.
We know many of you were planning to attend, wear green, and/or testify, and we really appreciate your flexibility and continued support. We’ll share the new hearing date and next steps as soon as they are confirmed.

STAY TUNED...

✨ Still wanna hang on Wednesday?
