A little happy news to share! 💛🐾 I’m so honored that Dolly’s Kindness Journey has received a Bronze Medal from Readers’ Favorite! 🥉📚 As an educator and children’s author, my hope has always been to create stories that encourage children to be kind, confident, and caring toward others. Seeing Dolly’s journey recognized in this way is truly special—and I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported this little book along the way. 💕 And a huge congratulations to all of the other authors and winners in this group! 🎉 What an accomplishment! It’s wonderful to celebrate the creativity, heart, and hard work behind so many meaningful books. 📚 Back-to-School Book Pick❤️ A new school year brings so much excitement… but for some kids, it also brings new challenges, new expectations, and the fear of not getting things right. What if we could remind them that struggling doesn’t mean they can’t do it? That’s why Dolly’s Doodle Dreams is my back-to-school pick. 🐾💙 Dolly’s story encourages children to keep trying, believe in themselves, and discover that mistakes and setbacks are simply part of learning. Because sometimes the most important thing a child needs to hear at the beginning of a school year isn’t “Be the best.” It’s “Keep going. You’ve got this.” 💛 And honestly, isn’t that something we all need to hear? 🥰 #BackToSchool #ChildrensBooks #PictureBooks #GrowthMindset #KidsBooks #TeachersOfInstagram #MomsofInstagram #PositivePawsReading #DollysDoodleDreams #belikedolly Have you ever needed a little encouragement and a reminder to keep trying? by @positivepawsreadings
📚💗 Honoring a true champion of children's literacy: Dolly Parton Today, I’m reflecting on the life of an incredible woman, whose impact on children’s lives goes far beyond music. Dolly Parton understood something incredibly important: a book can open a door to a child’s imagination, dreams, confidence, and future. In 1995, Dolly created the Imagination Library, inspired by her father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read and write. What began as a way to give children in her hometown a free book each month has grown into a worldwide literacy movement. Today, the program has gifted more than 330 million books to children. 📚🌎✨ What a legacy! Dolly once said:“If I’m remembered 100 years from now, I hope it will be not for looks but for books.” 💗 As an educator and children's author, I couldn't agree more. Books give children places to go, people to become, problems to solve, and dreams to imagine. And when we put a book into a child's hands, we aren't simply giving them a story. We're giving them possibility. ✨ Thank you, Dolly, for reminding the world that one book can plant a seed—and that a child's imagination can grow into something extraordinary. #belikeDolly Your legacy will live on in the millions of children who discovered the joy of reading because you believed every child deserved a book. 🩷📚 You will be missed. We will do our best to continue to advocate for children’s literacy and social emotional health. Dream More. Learn More. Care More. 🐾📚 Happy National Dog Day! 🐶💛 Dogs have a pretty amazing way of teaching us some of life’s most important lessons. They teach us about kindness. They show us loyalty. They remind us to be playful, curious, and brave. And somehow, they always seem to know when we need a few extra kisses! 🥰 That’s one reason I chose Dolly, aka Chloe my dog, as the main character for my children’s stories. When kids connect with a character like Dolly, they’re not just reading a story—they’re exploring big ideas like kindness, courage, perseverance, friendship, and leadership. And there’s something magical about reading a book with a child and watching their imagination come alive. So today, give your favorite pup an extra belly rub… and read a story together!🥰 Happy National Dog Day from Positive Paws Reading and Dolly. #NationalDogDay #PositivePawsReading #ReadWithKids #ChildrensBooks #DogLovers #KidsBooks #imagination #ReadingTogether #SEL #belikedolly #SocialEmotionalLearning #KindnessMatters #RaiseAReader #DollysKindnessJourney by @positivepawsreadings

🌼 “A friendship blossoms by being kind.” 🌼 What if tomorrow’s lesson wasn’t just about reading or writing—but about belonging? Small acts of kindness can grow into strong friendships when we give students space to reflect, share, and connect.❤️ This simple flower activity invites students to think about how they can be a good friend—one petal at a time. Kind words. Helpful actions. Listening hearts. 💛 Take a few minutes to pause, build community, and let kindness bloom in your classroom or home! Share a moment, what does kindness look like in your classroom or home? Because when we plant kindness together, friendships grow. 🌱 #kidsbooksofinstagram #teachersofinstagram #sel #socialemotionallearning #childrenspicturebooks by @positivepawsreadings
“Kindness isn’t just something we talk about… it’s something we practice.” One thing I hear often from teachers, parents, and homeschool moms is this: “I want to teach SEL meaningfully… but I also need it to connect to literacy and standards.” That’s exactly why I collaborated with @brightcookie to create the Dolly’s Kindness Journey Teacher Companion Resource 💛 It’s designed to support social-emotional learning and literacy skills together, in a way that feels natural, interactive, and fun! In Dolly's Kindness Journey, kids don’t just listen to a story—they 🐾 talk about choices 🐾 reflect on feelings 🐾 practice kindness and empathy 🐾 and build comprehension through discussion and activities.  Whether you’re in a classroom, at the kitchen table, or learning side-by-side at home, this resource is meant to feel like a shared experience, not a worksheet stack. Because when we slow down, talk things through, and learn together— that’s where the real growth happens. 🤍 Drop a 💛 if you're teaching kindness today.  You can find the resource on TPT @BrightCookie or on my website. Happy Reading!🐶 #socia#kidsbooksofinstagram #kidlit #teachersofinstagram #socialemotionallearning by @positivepawsreadings
💛 A Dolly reminder 💛 “I might not get it yet… but I’m learning every day!” 🐾 Amazing things happen when we keep trying! That one little word—yet—changes everything.💃 It helps kids feel safe to try, make mistakes, and keep going when learning feels hard. 🎉 📚 Teacher Tip: Model growth mindset language out loud: “I don’t get this yet… let’s try again together.” In Dolly's Doodle Dreams, our main character Dolly learns to keep trying even when things get tough. She learns to use the word "yet", knowing with hard work and perseverance, she will accomplish her dream of walking nicely on a leash! It's a story we can all relate too! Save this post to share with your class or child 💫 #GrowthMindsetKids #SELClassroom #PositivePawsReading #dollysdoodledreams #childrenspicturebooks #teachersofinstagram #parentsofinstagram by @positivepawsreadings

🎉 Hi friends… it’s me, Dolly! 🎉🐾 Today is a very special day—it’s my birthday! 🎂 And guess what? I woke up to the BEST surprise ever… ✨ Dolly’s Kindness Journey earned the Best-Selling Badge in the Citizenship category! ✨ My doodle heart is bursting 💛 Not just because of cake (okay… maybe a little), but because this tells me something BIG: Kindness matters. Citizenship matters. And kids are learning that their choices can make the world better. 🌍 On my kindness journey, I learned that being a good citizen doesn’t mean being perfect. It means: 🐾 Including others 🐾 Helping when someone needs it 🐾 Speaking up with kindness 🐾 Making small choices that create BIG change 💡 For parents & teachers: You don’t need a special lesson or extra time in the day to teach citizenship. It happens when you: • Pause and talk about characters’ choices • Ask, “What could you do in that situation?” • Celebrate kind moments—big AND small When kids see kindness modeled and talked about, they begin to believe they can lead with heart too. 💕 Thank you for reading with me, believing in SEL, and helping raise kind, thoughtful leaders—one paw at a time. 🐶💫 Birthday tail wags & gratitude, Dolly 🐾🎂 #PositivePawsReading #DollysKindnessJourney #CitizenshipForKids #SELBooks #TeachingKindness #SocialEmotionalLearning #RaisingKindKids #TeacherLife #ParentingWithPurpose #booksforgirls #storybookforkids #socialemotionabook #teacherlife🍎 #parentsofinstagram by @positivepawsreadings
