How much of what we believe about ourselves is actually true?

Sometimes we’re the ones deciding we’re not qualified, not ready, too flawed, too far behind, or simply not enough. But what happens when we examine those beliefs against what God actually says?

That’s the conversation we’re stepping into next at The POUR Collective.

We’ll kick off our IDENTITY series October 11 with a special workshop led by @juanitathorntonwilliams, then continue exploring it together in our weekly Bible study.

If you’ve never joined us before, come. There’s no prerequisite. Just bring yourself and be part of the conversation. 🤎

You can have all the facts and STILL get it wrong.

Here’s an idea that might challenge the way you interpret what’s happening in your life.

Luke 24:13–35. The road to Emmaus will make you think twice about what you think you know.

There’s always room for you at Bible study. Join us Sundays at 8:30 PM ET. by @pourandbefilled

Obedience is not the finish line.

So many of us were taught that if we just obey God, that’s the goal. That obedience itself is the victory. But scripture shows us something deeper.

Obedience may open the door… but it isn’t the destination.

The ten lepers obeyed and were healed.
But the one who returned in faith was made whole.

There is a difference between being healed and being made whole.

There is a difference between following instructions and encountering God.

Don’t stop at obedience.
Let obedience lead you into deeper faith, deeper gratitude, and a deeper relationship with Him.

Obedience starts the journey.
Faith carries it forward.

Sometimes God restores the opportunity and the assignment. How will you handle it the second time around? by @pourandbefilled

Luke 14 doesn’t only confront our theology — it confronts our instincts. Let’s learn to move the way Jesus moves.

The POUR Collective just launched a new @youversion devotional:

Not My Son, Not My Problem
Laying Down Selective Compassion

Built from Luke 14:1–6, this 5-day journey confronts a mindset we rarely say out loud—but often live:
“If it’s not personal to me, it’s not my responsibility.”

Jesus challenges that thought process.

This 5-day devotional is an invitation to lay down
not my son, not my problem and pick up the heart of Christ.

Let’s grow. Comment or DM and I’ll send the link to your inbox. ❤️ by @pourandbefilled

Happy MLK Day

Today I am remembering to see people the way Jesus sees them. In Luke 14:1-6 Jesus challenges the Pharisees in a discussion of healing on that Sabbath.

He asks them what if it were your son or your ox fallen into a well. Would you save them?

And the truth is that the Sabbath wouldn’t matter if it was someone or something you value.

Today I challenge you to begin to see people the way Jesus sees them. See them as valuable, as worthy, as someone who deserves love, kindness and consideration.
