📣Exciting news, y’all... It’s time to grow, and we want you to join the QM Advisory Fam!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
.
🔴As we are watching horrific attacks on queer and trans folx, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, immigrants, disabled folx, and women/femmes; we know that it is the essential time for us to gather in community and work collectively to bring about radical change.
.
🟠Beyond simply surviving, our commitment is that queer creatives get to thrive! We cannot do that alone. We are looking for community members who want to contribute to the work we are doing locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. We are committed to using our platform to advocate for systemic change and social justice through creative liberation.
.
🟡Do you have ideas to help improve the way we provide resources? Are you interested in helping us understand and fill the important needs of our queer community? If so, you are invited to apply to join our QMAF!
.
🟢*Not able to commit, but still want to get involved? Let us know how you would like to jump in, we appreciate all of your support!
.
🔵While this is currently an unpaid opportunity, the goal and intention is to provide funds for y’all. Your support allows us to have the capacity to focus on fundraising and get us all paid!
.
🟣Visit the link in our bio for the form, and reach out if you have any questions! Thank you so so much fam🙏🥹🩷

🌈Meet the Jurors:
Hey fam, get to know the talented artists who will be jurying [queerphoria] vol.6! We are honored to have Omar and Brennan joining us, both jurors have participated as artists in past [queerphoria] exhibits. You can learn a bit about them below, visit our website for more!
.
✨Omar Monroy (she/they)
@eltechichijewelry
“I am Omar Monroy, a Trans Ña’ha’Savi artist. My studio,El Techichi, is a love letter to my inner child, the women who raised me, and Rue, the chihuahua whose spirit sparked it all.
I come from fieldworkers and cosmetologists thus working with my hands and the earth is inherited, not chosen. I hand-make each piece in brass, copper, and silver, using only vintage or locally sourced stones as an act of reclamation against an extractive industry.
My work honors gender-diverse ancestors who held sacred roles before colonization. Proof Indigenous people are still here, still sovereign.”
.
.
✨Brennan Lee (he/him)
@brennanleemetals
“My work is an autobiography of my journey as a biracial, transgender Korean-American. Drawing from Korean imagery, commonplace forms (bells, knots, chains) that exist across cultures, and found objects from my environment, I have developed a visual language that examines ‘transformation’ with regards to both personal identity and diaspora. My work is informed by my experiences as a young opera singer and a foundry worker, both physically embodied practices, and considers the blurred lines between self, process, and art. The resulting objects hold multiple histories and identities simultaneously, offering a material record of a body and self in continual reformation.”
.
