Hi, my name is Mindy! How did I get into spray tanning? Well, after leaving the dental field after 14 years, I decided to stay home with my three kids while working as a waitress at Bonzinni’s at night. Then 2020 happened and the restaurant temporarily closed. One day, my sister in law joked that I should take a spray tanning course because everything was shut down and she was sick of being pale. So I took a course, and here we are today! What made you start your own business? About one month after taking the course and spray tanning family members, word started to spread about what I was doing. We had converted a bedroom in our basement into my little at home salon. Within a few months, I had taken over the entire basement. We renovated the space, added a waiting room, and modernized everything. About a year and a half later, I had completely outgrown my house and started construction on my first storefront. Now, 6.5 years later, I have moved twice, I have an amazing team of talented employees, and a business that I never could have imagined when I started. What is one thing clients would be surprised to learn about you? I bartended for 9 years, and I know how to blow fire! 😂🔥 It’s my party trick! by @prairiesunlesstanning
Hi, my name is Heidi! How did you get started as a spray tan artist? Well, it actually started with me being a client! I had been to Mindy & Maya a handful of times for a spray tan, and every single time I walked out feeling great about myself. Then my daughter started coming to them regularly for her cheer competitions, and every time I thought to myself… “I think I want to do this too!” I reached out to Mindy to see if she was looking for someone to train and join the Prairie Sunless Tanning team… and somehow, here I am! How long have you been spray tanning?  What do you do when you’re not at the studio? I have officially been on the other side of spray tanning for 6 months now, and I am LOVING this new adventure! When I’m not busy spray tanning, I’m a wife and a mom to two teenagers and three Golden Retriever dogs. Let’s just say there is NEVER a dull moment in our house! 😂 What is your favourite part of being a spray tan artist? I absolutely LOVE meeting new clients every day, seeing their smiles and watching their confidence grow when they leave their appointment feeling great about themselves And of course, getting to give them that perfect glow with my favourite tanning colour… Desperado! by @prairiesunlesstanning
Hey! My name is Maya✨ I got into spray tanning because I’ve always loved the confidence that comes with having a beautiful, bronzed glow! I used to get weekly spray tans by Mindy, and after a year of being her regular client she offered me the opportunity to train and work with her! My favourite part of being a spray tan artist? Getting to be part of your special moments!! Weddings, vacations, graduations, girls’ nights, photoshoots, or you just want to feel a little extra confident that day😊 One thing I wish every client knew: A great spray tan is all about the preparation and maintenance! Exfoliating, moisturizing at the right time, and following your aftercare makes SUCH a difference in how your tan develops and fades. Keep your skin hydrated and the tan will last longer! When I’m not tanning: I work full time as a medical office assistant in women’s health and pediatrics! When I’m not working, I am at the gym, running, playing pickleball or walking around Wascana lake by @prairiesunlesstanning
