Most UI animations are designed
for designers. Not for users.

They look incredible in a Dribbble shot.
They win awards at design conferences. And then real users ignore them or find them annoying.

The animations that actually work
are invisible.

They don't say "look at me."
They say "you're in the right place.
Everything is working. You're safe."

That's the standard I design to.
After 9 years — that's the only
standard worth designing to.

Swipe through for the full breakdown. 👆

Every animation has a job to do.

Not to impress.
Not to show off.
Not to fill silence.

To guide the user.
To confirm an action.
To reduce uncertainty.
To make the experience feel alive.

The best motion design is the kind
users never consciously notice, but immediately feel when it's gone.

That's the craft.
That's the standard.
That's what separates good UI
from unforgettable UI.

If you're a designer adding motion
to your work, you're not decorating.
You're communicating. Own that.

Minimal. Intentional. Every single one.

88% of users never return
after a single bad experience.

That's the weight of every
design decision you make.

Every button placement.
Every loading screen.
Every error message.
Every micro-interaction.

They all add up to one thing: Does the user stay or leave?

That is why UX isn't decoration.
It's business strategy.

Save this and share it with
someone who still thinks design
is just about making things pretty. 🔖

Let me say this clearly: AI will never replace a great designer.

It will replace designers
who don't use their greatest gift.

Imagination. Creativity. Visualization.

No model can replicate how you see the world. No prompt can replace how you solve problems. No algorithm can feel what your audience feels.

Meta and Google's AI ad systems
need more creative thinking than ever before. Not less.

This is your moment. Own it.

Your ads are working.
Your checkout page is undoing all of it.

Most D2C checkouts lose customers in the same 3 places, and none of them are obvious at first glance.

1. Too many steps before the buy button appears
2. No trust signal at the exact moment of hesitation
3. Form fields asking for things they don't need yet

The best checkout pages feel effortless. Not because they're simple, but because they're designed
to remove doubt at exactly the right moment.

Audit yours against these 3 before your next campaign.

Save this. You'll need it.

Your ads might be working perfectly. Your product page might be the problem.

I've audited dozens of D2C product pages. Most lose customers in the same 3 places:

1️⃣ The buy button isn't the most visually dominant element on the page
2️⃣ Trust signals (reviews, delivery, returns) are buried below the fold
3️⃣ Product photos all show the same angle — zero new information

Run the 60-second self-audit on slide 6. If you say no to even one — that's your next fix.

Most "2026 design trends" lists are written by people who haven't opened Figma in 2 years.

Here's a working designer's honest filter.

5 trends worth using:
✓ Dark mode — but with depth layers, not just a dark background
✓ Bento grid layouts — replacing the standard hero section
✓ Micro-interactions — the 100ms detail that makes products feel polished
✓ Accessibility-first design — a competitive edge, not a checkbox
✓ Editorial typography — when type is the entire visual

3 trends to skip:
✗ Glassmorphism — peaked in 2022, overused, hard to make accessible
✗ 3D everywhere — heavy, slow, mostly decorative
✗ Scrollytelling for utility apps — novelty fades fast

Slide 7 is the controversial one. I expect some disagreement.

Which trend do you agree with? Which one would you fight me on? 👇
