Episode #341 - Dan Schuardt

The ADCC bronze medalist returns for his fourth appearance on the show. He shares his journey of how he went from a kid in Australia to the biggest stage in grappling and achieved greatness. Dan shares how he came up with the Mussolini Lock, how John Danaher helped him face his mental demons and how he still managed to podium, despite a less than ideal preparation. Dan has been on this show more than any other guest and there’s a reason for that - don’t miss this episode!

Here's Dan's brandfresh BJJ Fanatics instructional: https://bjjfanatics.com/products/the-mussolini-lock-50-50-is-broken-the-attack-that-changes-the-rules-of-leg-locking-by-daniel-schuardt

You don’t have to train seven days a week to make it to the ADCC podium! 🥉

Next week we're delighted to have Dan Schuardt back on RoD AGAIN to share how he focused on fewer high-intensity rounds, deliberate practice, and winning the next exchange when things went wrong - despite his prep being horrific! 😂 taken in Precision MMA by @daniel_the_manchild

Swapping Trade Secrets!!! Last night my bro @matthewkheafy brought my team @precision_mma_official and I backstage to meet @triviumband and Matt ran me through some SICK picking drills on what I believe MAY be the upcoming Matt Heafy Signature @officialjacksonguitars 👀👀👀👀 (was GORGEOUS to play by the way!!)
Then I ran the band through how to disassemble a shin bone with the Mussolini lock!! If you want to learn more about it check out my instructional on @bjj.fanatics ! (Link in bio) #metalhead #jacksonguitars #bjj #leglocks by @daniel_the_manchild

If someone told 15 year old Daniel “hey buddy, keep practicing and maybe some day, iconic metal LEGENDS will want to learn jiu jitsu from you” I’d have literally laughed in their face 🤣 today I had that honour and got to teach @matthewkheafy of @triviumband a ton of awesome details over a 2 hour session and wow what an absolute gem of a human! 😁 can’t wait to see his live show tomorrow night in Melbourne!! taken in Precision MMA by @daniel_the_manchild

Have you seen @daniel_the_manchild ‘s insane move the #mussolinilock ??

Today I traveled to @precision_mma_official to learn from the source.

It attacks the whole shin bone - eventually snapping it in half if you don’t tap. There’s no “putting the boot on” out of it. And if you spin, any direction you’re torn up by heel hooks.

Thank you Daniel for having me in your dojo/ gym/ home and teaching me the move I’m gonna go spam all my friends with back in Orlando.

To be able to train a beloved martial art with someone at THIS level of BJJ is insane. It’s an honor, an inspiration, and a dream come true.

Congrats again to Manchild on his ADCC victory - and congrats on your patented move!

Get Manchild’s new instructional out now and find out just how broken this submission is.

If you live by the gym - go train there, and if you haven’t started BJJ yet, do it. by @daniel_the_manchild
