Last few days that @dicksthemusical is in theaters. Don't miss this whacky ride!

Here are some pictures of Evelyn's apartment, played by @meganomullally . This was my favorite set to decorate. I like to call her a curated hoarder. Evelyn never leaves her apartment when we first see her, so it needed to feel like her entire world was within these walls. It was a fun challenge shopping/curating/dressing her tchotchkes. We had so many deckers just filled with knick knacks for this small set. :)

Since @nighthousemovie released on HBO max recently, thought I'd share some set photos. Here we have pictures of Owen's office. He's an architect in the movie and built the house Beth (played by Rebecca Hall) and he live in. We shot this on location in a house by Skaneateles lake in NY and basically transformed the entire house. This was a fun movie to decorate.

For the office, our coordinator and I went to Syracuse University architecture department and contacted local architects for any drawings and models you see on screen. We also got tons of architecture books for the bookshelves and of course drafting tables, stationery and supplies. The last picture is what the room looked like before we got in.

Friday was my last day on @boldandbeautifulcbs as I hop onto a design project.
I watched the show as a kid in India, when it was one of the first American shows to premiere on our very new cable TV channels. I never thought more than 3 decades later it would still be running and I'll get to work on it as a Set Decorator. Brook Logan @katherinekellylang was gracious enough to snap a picture with me :)

Last month I spoke to the students from the CSULA Television, Film and Media Studies about careers in the Art department. It was an all womxn panel with all of us talking about different positions in the art department. It was a lot of fun with these cool badass women as I represented Set Decorators! Thanks @aiyana_designer for the invite and the amazing team: Nindhin, Jackie and Shelley for organizing the panel :) by @prernachawla.designs

All That We Love releases today in select theatres and online streaming!

I had a great time decorating Raven's Apt (played by @atsukocomedy ). Raven is a famous food vlogger in the movie and we leaned into that 100%. Food inspired furniture and dressing along with a lot of products (placements) and packaging. @liljeans our Production Designer had a fun pastel color palette in mind which we tried to achieve. I contacted a bunch of Asian American Artists to collaborate on this film and @marylai.co was gracious enough to loan our tiny indie 2 beautiful pieces from her collection.
Last picture is just some of us and I wish i had a picture with my set dec team as well!

Our group put together two panels for this year's San Diego Comic Con! Come say hi at SDCC.

Repost from @raedioactivv It’s heeeeeere! Next weekend is San Diego Comic Con, and for the third year in a row I will be going and putting on panels that celebrate Set Decorators and set decoration. This year, for the first time, we have TWO! On Thursday, “Set Decorators of the Sci-Fi World”, and on Friday, “Witch House: Set Decoration of the Supernatural”.

We’re so proud to bring Cal Loucks, Cindy Slagter, Kelsi Ephraim, Mónica Monserrate, and Ellen Brill, and the work all of them have done, to the Comic-Con audience.

Since early 2024 I’ve been doing this with the Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA), as part of our mission to promote the art and craft of Set Decoration, and we put these panels on together with Set Decorators Prerna Chawla @prernachawla.designs , Michelle Hall @pleasantlycreative , and Lizzie Boyle @lizziehboyle .

If you’ll be at SDCC, please join us!

My first short in January 2011. When I used to design, decorate, propmaster and pack trucks (thankfully I had a co-PD on this one). This girl just kinda knew how to drive on freeways with her Garmin GPS, in her beat up 2001 Honda Accord that a dealer fleeced her into getting (I remember my mechanic saying, that it looks like 2 cars have been welded together after an accident to make this one car). I would chomp on gas station sandwiches for lunch coz I didn't know better...! Had so much to learn then... And even now.
