Grief is strange. It can make you cry until you can’t breathe and somehow, in the same moment, laugh until your stomach hurts.

This trip was about giving ourselves permission to do both.

We came here carrying different kinds of grief. Different losses, different emotions, different things we’re learning how to let go of and live with.

But this trip was especially meaningful because we were also celebrating Sam’s dad on his birthday. 🤍 Anyone who knows her knows how much she loves her daddy. He wasn’t just her father — he was truly her best friend.

So we made space for all of it.

The tears. The stories. The laughter. The good food. The beautiful views. The moments where one of us understood what the other needed without having to say much at all.

I think grief keeps teaching me that sadness and joy don’t have to take turns.

You can grieve what was and still be grateful for what is.
You can miss someone or something deeply and still laugh.
You can be healing and still make beautiful memories.

And sometimes you just need a friend who understands enough to ugly cry with you in a pool somewhere beautiful. 🤍

I mean, technically I did get some cardio in. 😂🏃🏽‍♂️🛒

The errands weren’t going to run themselves.

We’ll try again tomorrow. Maybe. 😂

Getting back into my running era has been HUMBLING! 😂🏃🏽‍♂️

Today’s goal wasn’t about pace or distance. It was about endurance…..running 2 miles without stopping. Started with 1 mile, progressed to 1.5, and today we made it to 2! Next stop: 2.5 miles.

Slowly but surely, we’re getting that endurance back. One run at a time!

And of course, I had to reward myself with a very earthy matcha afterward. Because what else would I do? 😂🍵

Runners, what’s your best advice for rebuilding endurance?

Soft fabrics. Sharp intentions. Well dressed. Well moisturized. Slightly unavailable.

So apparently golf is a lot more than hitting a little white ball and hoping for the best. 😂⛳️

Yesterday, a very close friend of mine took me to the driving range for my first golf lesson, and let’s just say I have a newfound respect for the sport.

First of all, golf is NOT nearly as easy as it looks. The form, the coordination, the patience, the mental discipline… whew.

But what surprised me most was how much of the game is about learning to relax, release tension, and trust your technique.

Because apparently swinging harder and faster doesn’t mean the ball is going any further. Sometimes the best results come when you ease up, find your rhythm, and follow through.

And I couldn’t help but think about how much that applies to life.

Everything doesn’t require more force, more effort, or more control. Sometimes you just need to relax, trust yourself, and let things unfold.

Anyway, one decent shot later and I’m already considering buying golf clubs and an entirely new wardrobe. Because obviously. 😂

Here’s to trying new things, finding new interests, and enjoying the process of being a beginner.

Life has a funny way of taking you in directions you never quite expected.

With 40 right around the corner, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on where I am, where I thought I’d be, and where I want to go next.

And while life may look a little different than I imagined, I’m learning there’s something really beautiful about that too.

I’m embracing this season of rediscovery, growth, and new beginnings. Giving myself permission to evolve, to change my mind, to explore new possibilities, and to find joy in both the big experiences and the little everyday moments.

Of course, some chapters come with a little grief, a few growing pains, and lessons you didn’t necessarily sign up for. 😂 But that doesn’t mean life isn’t still good.

Because it is. Life is good. And I have so much to be grateful for.

I’m proud of the person I am today, excited about the person I’m becoming, and looking forward to everything this next chapter has in store.

I’m not starting from scratch. I’m starting from experience, wisdom, and a much clearer understanding of what I want my life to feel like.

And judging by this smile, I’d say I’m doing just fine. 🤍

Worth the Reservation?

@garzablancaloscabos 🌴

Short answer: absolutely.

We visited at the end of September during low season, and honestly, I think that made the experience even better. The resort was only around 40% occupied, so nothing ever felt crowded. Dinner reservations were easy, finding a great poolside spot with an umbrella wasn’t a competitive sport 😂, and we really got to enjoy how beautiful the property is.

We stayed in a one-bedroom suite with a full kitchen and TWO full bathrooms, which I now believe should be standard anytime you travel with someone. 😂

The spa? Amazing. We did hydrotherapy followed by massages, and mine was genuinely one of the best massages I’ve ever had.

But y’all know what really matters to me…

THE FOOD.

Not one bad meal. Not even a mediocre one. Of the four restaurants, Hiroshi, their Japanese restaurant, was my favorite, with Noi, the Italian restaurant, coming in a VERY close second.

You can book the resort with or without all-inclusive, but we chose all-inclusive for around $600 per person and I would absolutely do it again. Between the quality of the food, drinks and overall experience, it was worth every penny.

Add in a solid gym, Starbucks coffee, beautiful grounds and consistently great service throughout our stay, and this one was pretty easy to call.

⭐️ Worth the Reservation: YES.

I’d recommend Garza Blanca Los Cabos without hesitation, and more importantly, I’d go back.

Save this one for your next Los Cabos trip. ✈️

Healing isn’t always deep conversations and ugly cries.

Sometimes it looks like putting on a good outfit, smelling good, eating something delicious, laughing a little louder and realizing you’re starting to feel like yourself again.

Still figuring some things out. Still giving myself grace. Still choosing experiences that make life feel good.

But also… very moisturized. 😂

And somehow, somewhere along the way, the smile started feeling a little more natural again.

I think I like it here. 🤍

Somewhere healing, minding my business, and swimming in my favorite color…oh! …and looking good BTW 😎

I know it’s been a terribly long time since I posted, but listen…life has been LIFE-ING. 😂 So naturally, I’m making my return with content from a trip that happened almost a month ago. Better late than never, right?

Last month, we took a family trip to Tulum to celebrate my mom turning 60, and looking back at these clips reminded me just how special this trip was.

Good food, beautiful views, plenty of laughs, and most importantly time together as a family! 🫶🏽

The older I get, the more I realize that this is the good stuff. Being able to pause life for a few days, get the family together, and celebrate 60 years of someone I love so deeply.

Happy 60th all over again, Mama. 🤎

And yes…I think this means I’m officially back. 😂
