Tonight! At midnight! 🐸🚀

We're making our @subtleradio residency debut with a very special Storytelling Challenge mix from @primaldnb, inspired by our Star Trek-themed neurofunk B2B at Lakota! Accompanied by an incredible 140/DnB alien invasion mix from Aanka with unique styles of film and TV sampling.

Expect space adventure and plenty of wonderfully weird narratives!

A huge thank you to @primaldnb and @aanka_uk for making this happen. 💜

Can't tune in tonight? Don't worry! The mix will be uploaded to SoundCloud afterwards!

For PULSE03, Only What You Can Control (Part II), Bristol-based drum and bass producer Primal collaborates with impressionist painter Helena Traill, bringing together music, oil painting, and film. Exploring the balance between control and chaos, the collaboration translates the track’s energy and rhythm into expressive brushstrokes, capturing the unpredictable relationship between sound, movement, and visual art. #dnb #newmusic #electronicmusic #bristolartist #abstractart by @primaldnb

IT'S OUR 2ND BIRTHDAY 💜

And next up, it's Primal!

Primal is a Bristol-based DnB DJ and producer who's all about pushing beyond predictable sounds. His sets are technical and distinctive in his composer performance style.

With debut releases on Evolution Audio, 1 More Thing and Nerium Records, alongside recent mixes for Data Transmission's Renegade Riddims and Chef's Table, he's been making a name for himself in Bristol's underground scene.💜

Come celebrate with us!! 🐸💜 by @primaldnb

We are so deeply honoured to announce that Croakheads now has a residency on @subtleradio !! 🐸💜

We spent a lot of time thinking about what we wanted to do with this opportunity - and we kept coming back to something we've always been incredibly proud of: our Storytelling Challenge and our beloved, wonderfully whacky themes.

What better way to celebrate our residency than by showcasing the incredible imaginations of grassroots DJs and emerging producers? 💜

For our Storytelling Challenge, each DJ chooses a theme from a list we provide and creates a mix that tells a story in their own style. There's no formula. Just freedom to experiment, explore and be as bizarre as they like!

For our debut, we're SO excited that @primaldnb has created a special mix inspired by our Star Trek-themed neurofunk B2B with Zaba at Lakota back in April. It's wonderfully imaginative, completely unconventional and exactly the kind of creativity we want to champion. 💜

This will be accompanied by an incredible 140/DnB alien invasion storytelling mix from @aanka_uk with unique styles of film and TV sampling.

We want to push back against algorithm-driven, formulaic music listening. Because what's more anti-commercial than ridiculous themes and unexpected sampling surprises? We are our best creatively when we have permission to CREATE!

A HUGE thank you to @aanka_uk and @primaldnb for putting so much work into bringing this concept to life. We're genuinely honoured you agreed to do our debut show. 💜

And we cannot WAIT to share what the rest of our incredible DJs have been creating over the coming months !!

Now it's time to prepare.... for space adventures !! 🐸💜🚀
