At 17, a judge sentenced her to die in prison. For 25 years, that was her reality.

Today, Sheena Rogers is a nationally recognized advocate, a founder, and a healer. Since coming home, she has intentionally rebuilt her life around a core principle: transforming her lived experience into leadership. She founded a transitional home for women, developed a curriculum to help others heal from the trauma of incarceration, and travels the country to demand policy change.

"I know that my story can be someone else's survival guide or someone's hope," she says. "I never take that lightly."

When she’s not testifying in a state capitol, you can find her riding her Harley or celebrating freedom in a ballgown alongside hundreds of others who were once told as children they’d never be free. She is proof that our communities are safer and stronger when we choose redemption over condemnation. by @prison_didnotbreakme
