Producing for the Stage is a series of capability development programmes created by Fezhah Maznan, Juliet Chia and Shridar Mani. It came out of the desire to create a healthier producing community where producers can feel fulfilled and supported from the start to the end of their lifelong career. The first of the series is Introduction to the Producer’s Work. Across 4 modules, we will establish common vocabulary and expectations for the producer role, equip participants with basic knowledge, skills and tools for carrying out the producer’s work, and develop participants’ confidence and capability to lead and manage their projects. For the first time, our lectures are online and open to regional participation.

One of the greatest challenges in producing is having little resources while having to bring to stage the (almost) impossible dream. At times, the lack-of can be too big a hurdle to cross or... it could inspire new creative ways to problem solve. In the second module, we look at Resource Management- from assessing risks before embarking on a project to managing and allocating resources like money and time, this module will close with a workshop on how to create a realistic budget and timeline for your production.

So if you are new to producing or find yourself having to take on the producing role in your creative practice, this might be the programme for you!
