$I can’t, but also unfortunately can, believe what I’m seeing. Aspen Azalea was arrested after this before being taken to the hospital. That noise you hear was her chin. She suffered a concussion and bruising, but with that force it could’ve been a split chin and fractured skull. by @protect.utah$

Utah County Commission police officers may have broken the jaw of 100lb woman by slamming her on the ground for peacefully protesting their approval of a data center ordinance and overlay zone in Utah County.

In the interests of tech billionaires’ profits the Utah County Commission sent its officers to violently assault and arrest peaceful data center protestors.

Utah County Commission is violently assaulting and arresting data center protesters, including a small woman, after approving a data center ordinance despite over a hundred residents packing the room and demanding a rejection of the ordinance and a full ban on all private data center development.

UPDATE: @protect.utah has been released from jail and is okay and receiving medical care. by @protect.utah

Shi cheii and everyone who fought for our rights to be heard as Native peoples knew that though we did not choose these systems, we have every right to have a say about what happens to our homelands.

This is a right guaranteed by our treaties, that activists from our nations + countless Indigenous women grassroots organizers have fought for.

Voting itself in THIS system (because let’s remember who this country appropriated democracy from… 👀 #haudenosaunee) may not be our way, but there are people out there fighting for us and our ways every single day.

Use your voice and stand for what’s right today! Pay attention to who’s running where you are.

@UtahCountyGovernment’s propaganda continues! Another blatant misrepresentation of the data center land use amendments, this time on KSL News. The residential separation included in their proposal has a set back of 1,000 feet, not “a mile”. This claim was made TWICE in the interview. Commissioner Amelia Powers Gardner does make a very good point in this video though, when someone appeals to you without using facts, you aren’t getting the whole story. #datacenter #utah #accountability by @protect.utah

This is not some unprecedented situation. This is happening all over the country. Wake up. It’s getting worse. Start standing up for people or you will be next.

This week is going to be BUSY.

We URGE you to get involved for your community and your county. We need more bodies to be present for these decisions. I promise you, you’ll be impacted by them, so why not make your voice heard?

Let us know if you can go to any of these! by @protect.utah
