POSTS STORIES REELS

You think you know someone.

Their job. Their success. Their public persona.

Then they start talking.

PRsonal Podcast goes beyond the professional to uncover the stories, struggles, surprises and moments that shaped real North East business people.

No small talk. No business bluster. No topic off limits.

PRsonal, the business podcast that isn’t about business.

“I wanted uninterrupted drinking time.”

Paul Woodhouse speaks openly about alcohol addiction and the isolation that came with it.

In this clip from PRsonal, he recalls sleeping in his car and in a field, sometimes so he could drink without being disturbed. By his early to mid-30s, he says, he was drinking entirely alone.

An honest conversation about experiences that aren’t always easy to share.

🎧 Hear Paul’s full conversation with Charlotte in episode 101 of PRsonal.

It's been good to be podcasting again this week.

Thank you to Julian Campbell, @dikbartontitanic, Michael from @circlecloudltd and Paul from @plw_fitness for letting me grill them.

Episode 101 of @prsonal_podcast will be out later in the month.

If you fancy yourself in the hot seat, drop me a line sharing what you'd like to talk about. Please remember we don't directly talk about your business, it's the person behind the business I'm interested in getting to know. Feel free to tag in guest recommendations too.

We're also looking for sponsors so if you could help the show in anyway, I'd really appreciate hearing from you. 🙏

October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month.

Over the years, some of our PRsonal guests have trusted us with incredibly personal stories about domestic abuse, the impact it can have and the work being done to support those affected.

This month, we’re revisiting three important conversations with Ashleigh Wright, Michelle Sheekey and Yasmin Khan.

These episodes include discussions of abuse and violence which some listeners may find distressing.

Listen to PRsonal wherever you get your podcasts.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, support is available 24/7 through the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247. Calls are free and confidential.

It’s always good to hear how a guest felt after stepping into the PRsonal studio.

For Chris, it was the mix of warmth, honesty and thoughtful conversation that made the experience feel so natural.

And that’s exactly what PRsonal is about: creating space for the conversations people don’t always get the chance to have.

Suicidal thoughts don’t always look the way we expect them to.

Someone can be working, meeting deadlines, making plans and appearing completely fine while going through something very different underneath.

Over the years, guests on PRsonal have spoken openly about suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, losing loved ones to suicide and, importantly, what helped them keep going.

For Suicide Awareness Month, we’ve brought together some of those conversations.

If there’s one message to take from them, it’s this: talk to someone. Give yourself a chance.

If you’re struggling, Samaritans are available 24/7 on 116 123. You can also text SHOUT to 85258 for free, confidential support.

For Charlotte, hosting PRsonal has been a journey in more ways than one.

So many conversations, so many incredible guests and plenty learned along the way.

Here are a few things the podcast has taught her so far.
