Anathema, 2025

Mixed media sculpture (air-dry clay, wood, industrial hardware, electronic waste)
Dimensions: 140 cm H x 120 cm W x 90 cm D
Base: Mounted on a 61 cm x 61 cm (2x2ft) wheeled plywood platform

Anathema is a large-scale, biomechanical humanoid sculpture meant to embody a physical representation of artificial intelligence. Inspired by the biomechanical aesthetics of H.R. Giger, Tsutomu Nihei, and the narrative darkness of speculative worlds, the work explores themes of human curiosity turned exploitation, greed— both technological and scientific— and the dangerous willingness to push beyond ethical and moral boundaries in the name of our relentless pursuit of progress and efficiency. by @psychetine

H.R Giger-esque Alien Exoskeleton. Unfinished but I feel like I might leave it this way. Or work on it again after some time. 1kg air dry clay, painted with acrylics. Sealed with a mixture of clear glue, silver chrome powder, and black paint. The 17 industrial piercings added a very nice touch. I sculpted the spikes using clear builder gel for nails. by @psychetine

Sometimes I think about marriage and lifelong partnership and how wonderful it must be but then i realize growing up I never had any good examples of it around me. Not with healthy boundaries, not of unconditional mutual respect and love, not one example where both individuals were allowed to live their own lives and shine. I like to think I know better but then again don’t we all? There is always some sort of mess that needs cleaning up but doesn’t ever go away because it would take a miracle or an entirely new life. Sometimes i wish i could start from scratch but everyday in little ways i try to convince myself that i quite like this life I’ve worked really hard to build. There are a lot of things that are never happening to me in this life and i will just have to accept that. by @psychetine
