📍 #DRCongo In eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Ebola outbreak is hitting communities already facing conflict, displacement and hunger. 🔵 WFP is responding by transporting humanitarian staff and critical cargo, supporting partners through UNHAS and UNHRD and the Logistics Cluster to stay coordinated and on track to reach those who need our support. In a response like this, supply chains are critical: without them, medical supplies, protective equipment and responders cannot reach the places they are needed most. Because outbreaks can be contained but only if the response moves fast, reaches the right places and works as one. Hear from WFP Head of Supply Chain in DRC, Alain Kabore ☝🏿 by @worldfoodprogramme

📍 #DRCongoThe epicentre of the Ebola health crisis in eastern DRC is in the heart of WFP’s operational areas. The outbreak comes at an especially dangerous moment: across the country, 26.5 million people are already facing acute hunger, with millions in the east living through conflict, displacement, and fragile health systems. Even small disruptions to markets, access, or livelihoods can push families deeper into crisis.Ebola is not just a health emergency — it is a threat multiplier, risking deeper hunger if humanitarian access and assistance are not scaled up.WFP is working with the Government of DRC, WHO and partners to move responders, deliver vital supplies, and support affected communities — while protecting staff and partners on the ground.⚠️ Speed is critical. Early action can stop Ebola from spreading — and prevent a deeper humanitarian crisis. by @worldfoodprogramme
