POSTS STORIES REELS

We travel a lot and I rely on good travel systems with multiple kiddos. ✨

Try out this nappy/diaper clutch with me for baby number 3 💗 I stock these in the store so I had to try one out for myself!

LOVE is an understatement…
😍😍😍😍😍
The wetsuit material is such a great idea and there is plenty of room for nappies, wipes plus a change of clothing!

Thank you @jellystone.designs
I will absolutely be stocking a wider colour range of this beautiful mat when we reopen in July but until then I will just enjoy using this one with my own little bub. X

I’ve received so many beautiful messages from this community about feeling pressured by family, friends and in-laws during the postpartum period after watching my stories over the past few weeks. 💗

Every birth is different, every family is different and every postpartum experience is different. Listen to yourself if you’re feeling uneasy or want your postpartum to feel a certain way mumma. It is YOUR postpartum experience.

Something that has helped my husband and I to navigate pushy family members is to write down a postpartum plan. This consists of what we need from the postpartum space to make sure that our older children are happy & what we would like it to look like regarding visitors so that I can recover in a peaceful environment.

Just writing down a plan together and being on the same page has really helped me to feel more supported this time around. It has also given us something to refer to when speaking to family members who might have their feelings hurt because they want to be there the moment the baby arrives. We all have those family members, don’t we? 🙈

Knowing that every birth and postpartum is different means that we are also flexible. Things don’t always go to plan. We know that. 💗

Some things that are important to me this time
✨ No visitors for the first week at all including extended family

✨ Taking the time together as a small family before sharing birth announcements or photos to extended family/friends

✨Rest and recovery in the days after birth are put first not heading out and about

✨Any helpers with our older children during the birth will leave when we get home to let us bond as a family (with lots of appreciation and love ofcourse)

Third time around, I am going into this birth with more planning towards the postpartum. Was that important to you after your last birth experience? ⬇️

Do you try play invitations more than once?

✅ IKEA Flitsat trays allow you to put a lid on sensory experiences and come back to them the following day
✅ I like to role play some ways to play with the tray the first time with my child then leave it out for a week or so in our playroom
✅ If rice starts getting poured all over the floor or the resources get spread everywhere I will role play some appropriate play again or tidying up with my child
✅ It’s great to watch how play can evolve and change over the course of a week

I think it’s probably my teacher side that loves a week long theme. Do you do this or change it up daily?

Sometimes it is so tricky to come up with new play tray ideas! I know Insta is full of them but let’s be honest, it can be super overwhelming. 😂🙈

In my classroom and at home I like to start with a story or text and then build a play tray around it. I use it as a bouncing board for what materials I’ll need.

Tips
✨Display the text next to or with the play tray
✨ Displaying the book standing up will encourage little hands to take it off the shelf and read it
✨ Don’t overthink the materials you need. Use every day items from your playroom or house
✨ Read the text with your little one first and then point out some of the similarities in the play tray
✨ Put play trays on low shelves so that your child can discover them without guidance after that first play together
✨ Keep it simple! Not every tray or small world needs to look like it has been plonked there to create the next viral reel. 😂

Watch my stories today to see me take over #themumsdiaries and show you how to create a simple literacy inspired play tray like this. 💗

A big thanks to @openhandlearning and @tinyhumansperth for hosting The Mums Diaries this month xx

Have you got some sick kiddos at home that need a quiet activity this weekend? 🙋

Playdough can be made in a flash ⚡️and is a great way to keep little hands busy while you get five minutes to yourself.

Just remember to discard any dough that you’ve used while your littles are sick after they use it a few times. You can even keep the dough separate by writing thier names on tupperware containers and the date used. 🤧

I like to use coconut oil to give the dough a nice feel but sometimes the smell can be quite strong. You can use any oil that you have in your kitchen and see what works!

If you don’t have nutmeg why not add some cinnamon or other spices. Gather leaves 🍁 from the garden and create a fun play invitation.

Happy Saturday xx
