Winx has been such a special foster puppy for us. Jake and I took a few years off from fostering and never knew if we’d ever be able to foster again due to our busy work schedules. Little did we know, I’d find this adorable puppy in a Facebook group, in need of a foster takeover from a local neighbor, @superskynyc. During her time with us, Winx brought us an overwhelming amount of joy, love, and laughter. Today, Winx was adopted by an incredible family and we can’t wait for Winx’s new family to fall in love with her, the same way we did💛 by @puptownfunk.nyc

Hip hip hooray!🎉 Our quickest foster to date, Marigold (now named Tula) has been adopted! In our short time together, we quickly saw how sweet, loving, and resilient this little girl is. We couldn’t have asked for a better family for her💝 by @puptownfunk.nyc

Winx never fails to make us laugh - what even is this sleeping position?! 😂 At least we’re happy to know that she feels safe and happy with us 💕 #adoptable #adoptdontshop #puppy #dogsofinstagram by @puptownfunk.nyc

⭐️ ADOPTED ⭐️

Meet Winx!

At 4 months old and 19 pounds, Winx is an absolutely adorable brindle Plott Hound mix with the cutest little build. As she’s growing, we’ve noticed she’s developing short legs and a long body, making her even more irresistibly unique!

Winx is everything you’d want in a puppy—friendly, curious, adventurous, and always ready to turn an ordinary day into an adventure. She greets life with endless enthusiasm, a wagging tail, and the confidence of a dog twice her size.

When she’s not exploring the world, Winx is all about the cuddles. In fact, here’s a fun fact: if you sit on the floor with your legs crossed, she’ll happily curl right up in your lap for snuggles. It’s one of her favorite places to be, and it’s nearly impossible to resist her sweet puppy eyes once she’s settled in.

This smart little girl is learning quickly! She’s already crate trained, puppy pad trained, and continues making great progress with her house training. Winx has also added a few tricks to her growing resume—she already knows sit, stay, and paw! She’s eager to learn, especially when treats are involved, and she’s sure to impress her future family with just how quickly she picks up new skills.

Like any growing puppy, Winx still has plenty of playful energy. She loves investigating everything around her, making new friends, and finding creative ways to entertain herself. She enjoys toys, playtime, and then happily settles in for a cuddle when the excitement winds down.

Winx is looking for a family ready to continue her training, embrace all the fun that comes with puppyhood, and give her the love she deserves. With her affectionate personality, adorable brindle coat, unique little legs, and eagerness to please, she’s sure to make an incredible lifelong companion.

If you’re looking for a playful best friend who will keep you smiling, make you laugh every day, and happily snuggle in your lap whenever you sit down, Winx is ready to wiggle her way into your heart!

In Loving Memory of Shao “Shirley” Huang 🕊️💫

Today, we honor the life of an extraordinary woman – a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Shirley lived with an optimistic outlook, leading with kindness and grace in everything she did. Her deep love for dogs, especially her own Coco (Rottweiler), Alfie (Corgi), Tory (Terrier-mix), and Marty (Pomeranian), was truly larger than life and touched everyone around her.

Her love for dogs was so infectious. It inspired her niece @puptownfunk.nyc to foster and volunteer, ultimately bringing her to KK9R. In Shirley’s memory, we continue her legacy by giving more dogs, like Alfie and Marty – the puppies of Maria, rescued from a high-kill shelter – a fighting chance at a brighter future.

Through her love and spirit, Shirley will continue to make an impact, helping countless dogs find their forever homes. 🐾❤️
