🍎 A Reimagining of Snow White - Based on the artwork of Lucas Cranach the Elder 🍎 Lucas Cranach the Elder is one of my absolute favorite artists and was active in c. 1500-1553 Germany. A great deal of what we know regarding early 16th century German fashion comes from Cranach’s paintings. Hence the types of dresses depicted in his paintings are often referred to as Cranach Gowns. Many of the design elements in Disney’s Snow White appear to take inspiration from the Cranach Gowns—hence it makes sense to combine the two! (Numerous talented artists and history enthusiasts have made this connection as well.) #art #drawing #digitalart #procreate #madewithprocreate #cranachgown #snowwhite #arthistory by @purple_pie_art
