Seems long ago, yet so fresh in my mind.
Still hard to believe I did it. 2,189 miles. 189 days. 5,500,000 steps. God is good.

Most people think recovery coaching is about ONLY about addiction.

It’s not. Not primarily.

It’s about the life someone is trying to build, the relationships they’re in, the routines they’re living inside, the choices they’re making each day, the future they’re beginning to imagine.

Addiction might be where the conversation starts. But the coaching happens in the life they are living

That’s what we’re exploring on April 15th with a free, live, 90 minute session open to everyone.

The house on the right with the orange jeep was built on a tiny lot that filled with water. But now the water is diverted and fills two streets.

Warwick is allowing houses to be built on lots that hadn’t been built on for 70 years, most of them destroying open space and neighborhood morale.

Big news in the Valentine world — Sandy “retires” tomorrow, and I’ve been at it since October 5, 2024.

I promised I’d spend retirement chasing my 6 A’s: Advocate, Adventurer, Angler, Artist, Athlete and Author. Sixteen months in, let’s just say the fishing is strong, the art is legit, the hikes are real, and the golf swing is… a work in progress.

But here’s what never retired: our commitment to the recovery movement. So Sandy and I are mixing part‑time work with full‑time heart and launching valentinerecovery.com — a place where advocacy, experience, and a little Valentine humor come together to support recovery.

Think of it as the next evolution of the Advocate in me, with plenty of Angler and Adventurer still on the schedule.

Come visit the site, share it with your recovery people, and walk this new chapter with us.

— Phil & (newly retired!) Sandy Valentine 💙

Semi‑retired. Still an Advocate. Forever a goofball with a mission. by @pvalentine1959
