End of the road 🥹
- and a long winding one it was.

In the midst of battle, you never think this day will come, and probably the reason why I’ve avoided posting this for so long, with the hope of one more match.

January has passed, points have disappeared and so has a World Ranking.

Its a sad yet happy moment, with a million memories to remember and forget.

I made amazing friends along the way, had very supportive sponsors, and many helpful coaches and physio’s since the age of 9, who all played their part in my journey, and made me the player I am. I also stayed with generous families all over the world who took me in and made me feel welcome 🙏🏽.

This is a huge thank you to you all for believing in me, and no bigger believers than my parents and my best friend now wife, who have always been my biggest supporters since Caerphilly Leisure Centre days with Bob Perry, Dai Mills and Ian Rumsey.

My dad pushed me, my mum was a shoulder to fall back on, and my biggest motivation was always to make them proud of me.

@sport_wales and @squashwales allowed me to play as long as I did, and so did @tracey87cole ✈️ , alongside a great team of people keeping my body fit and healthy (Osian & Adam). My team @head_squash always having my back from the age of 14 and continued support into my coaching career. I’ve had many great sponsors along the way, so thank you to all that personally helped me, I appreciate every one of you 💪🏽🫵🏼

Started at Welsh National Trials, and Welsh Junior Squash, to Millfield days with Jonah and Ian, Uwic laughs, The Hague, Bristol, to the World Tour touching every corner of the globe and sharing it with some of my best mates.

The next chapter has already started and is @weareopensquash where I am the director to the most awesome team of motivating coaches I could ask to work with.

It’s an emotional goodbye 🥹, but one I look back with happy memories. Ta ra Touuur, let us live. Time for a beverage and a cigar 🥂

My biggest motto was always to stay positive and enjoy every moment like it’s your last, because one day it will be 💚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 by @pvdcreed

A Welshman in New York.

Growing up in Caerphilly, a small town in South Wales, Pete always dreamed of living in New York City. Squash has been a huge part of his life from an early age, and although he had no idea where it might take him, New York was always somewhere he hoped he’d end up.

Fast forward and here he is catching the ferry across the East River on his way home, living in the city he’d spent so much of his childhood dreaming about.

And while New York might be home these days, his roots are still very much in Wales. It’s where his love for squash began, and where our clothing is still made today.

A little reminder to keep believing in those dreams, wherever you’re starting from.

THE NEXT RALLY: LIVE PANEL 🎙️

Squash is heading to LA28. But what happens after the Olympic spotlight moves on?

At Steel Rally, we brought together five voices from across the game to explore what comes next, from its rich heritage and evolving culture to building new audiences, communities and opportunities beyond the court.

Because while the Olympics present an incredible opportunity for squash, they’re a starting point, not the whole strategy.

The future of the game needs more than a moment in the spotlight. Fresh thinking, stronger partnerships and a collective effort from players, brands, businesses and the wider squash community.

And perhaps most importantly, it needs to give people something to get excited about, whether they’ve played squash for years or have never picked up a racket.

A big thank you to our panel for bringing their different perspectives to the conversation:

@adrian.d.grant - CEO @kansosports & former World No. 9
@stephchungs - Managing Partner @racquetmag
@stephanieeborges - Founder & CEO @meadpointcapital , WSF Committee Member & Co-Owner @greenwich_panthers
@pumbapat - President of USA Racketlon @racketlonfir
@rodmartinsquash - Former World Champion & World No. 2

Pancake Pete, between takes 🥞🫐 by @pvdcreed

Meet Pancake Pete.

The pancake thing started years ago, usually making them for mates after a precarious night out.

The squash thing started even earlier.

If you know, you know.

It’s official! 😁

I’ll be running my first-ever marathon right here in NYC! 🏃‍♂️🗽

Excited, nervous, and hopeful all at the same time.

Running a marathon has always been on my bucket list, and what better place to do it than one of the greatest cities in the world?

Even better, I’ll be running for an incredible cause: @palsskyhope 💙✈️

Sport has given me so much throughout my life, and it continues to do so. As a former professional squash player and now a coach, I know how fortunate I’ve been to have opportunities that many people never get.

That’s why I’m proud to be running the New York City Marathon in support of SkyHope. Their mission is simple but incredibly powerful: providing free flights so patients can access the medical treatment they need, regardless of financial or geographical barriers.

Training starts now, and I’ll do my best to share the journey with you along the way.

If you’d like to support this amazing cause, please consider making a donation using the link in my bio. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a real difference.

Thank you so much for your support.

See you at the finish line. 🏃‍♂️🗽💚 🍻 by @pvdcreed

New York Brooklyn Half Marathon 🥇💪🏽 🏃🏻🎽 🍎

- A late post but what a fun time a few weeks ago running my first ever half marathon with a buddy @glerenmeneghin

- With 3 practice runs under my belt, the goal was to finish around 1:45. Came in at 1:45:24 keeping a solid 8min mile pace.

- Got some new Oakley Meta glasses for the race, might of forgot to charge them and they cut out on mile 7 😂

- 12 Rum and gingers post race was great recovery method.

- Thank you to the support crew during and post race 🫶🏼

- Next stop the NYC Full Marathon for @sarahskyhope in November. Quite scary but always up for a challenge 💪🏽
