Welcome to Qhakaza!
A space for create growth, connection and community in the film industry.

POSTS STORIES REELS

A room full of storytellers — cast, producers, directors, writers, guest speakers — gathered not just to meet, but to welcome.

Glasses were raised, hearts were open.
In that shared space, a community formed —
rooted in intention, blooming with promise.

The journey began with laughter, love, and a toast to bold futures. 🥂✨

🌸 WELCOME TO QHAKAZA 🌸

Qhakaza means “to blossom”! It means “to flourish.” And that’s exactly what we’re here to do.

Qhakaza is a space for creative growth, connection and community in the film industry.

A space where African storytellers — especially emerging producers and filmmakers — get to grow, thrive, and lead. Through workshops, screenings, mentorship, and community, we nurture creative talent and build a new generation of bold storytellers.

Supported by PESP - NFVF, Our second edition brought together 10 amazing producers for 10 days of learning, unlearning, and blossoming. 🌱

At Qhakaza, we believe in:
💡 Building skills through practical, no-nonsense workshops
🤝 Creating real industry connections — not just talks, but action
🎬 Championing diverse, authentic stories from Africa to the world
💥 Supporting YOU — the next generation of creative entrepreneurs

It’s time to blossom where you are planted, create boldly, and take your place in the global storytelling landscape.

Here’s to courage, creativity, and community.
