38. 🌱 Shedding what was. Making room for what will be. Grateful for it all, even while feeling it deeply. HBD Qui 💗 by @quiwingfield

#Repost Grateful to @newvoicesfamily for opening the doors to this dynamic fireside chat with @groundedcupco @imtianaj about “How Forced Pauses Become Profitable Pivots” ❤️ hosted by @abeillecreations Melissa Mitchell! ✨

Tiana and I truly walkthrough what our experiences were like pivoting into building our OWN tables, and doing it in ways that honor who we are and create a path for others to see what is possible when you bet on yourself.

As a former successful teacher and school principal, everything I learned as an educator helped me become a CEO and build a very profitable company, @k.allen.consulting , that continues to set the standard and provide inspiration & a sense of possibility for so many who have built or are building and operating their own consulting agencies today.

Tiana is also a former educator who has built a dynamic organic coffee company….and this shows just how how much many of us are housing on the INSIDE of us that the world has YET to fully see, experience, and be blessed by.

‼️Y’all, this ENTIRE conversation, along with the @essence Authors Fireside Chat, are now LIVE online andbe watched online on Essence’s @essence website 🎥 💻 ‼️ …If you missed either of these two of the 3 events our @k.allen.consulting founder Krystal Allen took part in, check out the full videos online.

#PurposeDriven From the moment the day began, I invited God into it. Began the day at 6:30am with devotional and prayer time at home & it set the tone for the entire rest of the day. From an 8am makeup appt with @chanellmmakeup to the check in process to pick up my & our team’s credentials to the kind escort driver via golf cart to the 1st green room, the hospitality and care of the entire @newvoicesfamily team at every stage & green room provided, to the crowd of individuals waiting at all 3 stages, to the way God moved as I took each 🎙️ & spoke what He led me to say…absolutely EVERYTHING about yesterday was unforgettable. 🙏🏾

Beyond applause and engagement, people received exactly what they came for, and often what they didn’t know they needed to hear, learn, or takeaway. After the 1st 2 stages, I completed 6 different national media interviews in the @essence Press Room backstage, then moved right into the 3rd and final engagement not leaving the Convention Center until 6pm. From book signing to intimate talks with attendees to meeting and having 1-on-1 conversations with @djenvy DJ Envy, @stylistjbolin J. Colin, @iamtishacampbell Tisha Campbell, @normani Normani, etc. as we shared the same green rooms. ❤️

God is good. I will NEVER get tired of saying that, & the most powerful things He showed me throughout the day were:

1) How genuine, pure, & Spirit-driven energy can be felt (people discern) & when you move in the Spirit, it magnetizes people towards you naturally without force.

2) People who are truly submitted to God always win…when God is your ultimate guide, absolutely everything concerning you is intentional.

3) People are going through a lot and need messengers who care for more than their $$$ but genuinely care for their holistic being. The word community is thrown around a lot, but in true community, we take care of each other, not simply focus on what we can extract from each other.

4) God has even more ahead for my life, & it’s going to be important that I trust His process.

P.S. More content loading (and tremendous thank you’s to come especially for @quiwingfield @_stage5 & more 🥹) 🫶🏾

Still smiling thinking about Serenity’s cotillion weekend

So thankful for all of our family & friends, near and far, who celebrated her with us, and to my brother Rashaad for standing in the gap for the Waltz Dance 💛

Watching Serenity grow in faith, confidence, and clarity through this experience has been so beautiful. So proud of you babygirl.

17 in just a few days… and just getting started

For years, people have asked how I stay grounded through life’s changes. Many of you know the incredible journey I’ve been on and some are new to my tribe.

This new year, I’m sharing that practice more openly through my new Substack newsletter:

The Reframed Perspective

Reflections on choosing clarity, intention, and a healthier way forward while using our Free Will well 😊

This holiday season, we’re grateful for the men who show up.

The leaders. The protectors. The fathers.

Father Figures was a reminder that presence is the greatest gift.

Thankful for every man who poured in, stood tall, and led with love.

Wishing you and your families a joyful holiday season 🤍

Tonight, the girls and I had the pleasure of attending the STEMii Awards & Gala hosted by @stematlanta and @iammaxinecain A beautiful celebration of leaders, students, and emerging scholars in the STEM community. What an amazing night of inspiration, connection, and purpose!

The keynote by our girl @freedomspeakz left us even more motivated to support the next generation of global citizens and STEM leaders, especially as I raise two daughters heading into the medical field.

STEM Atlanta’s work to ignite curiosity, confidence, and opportunity for young minds is something I’m proud to support. Let’s keep dreaming big, thinking boldly, and building a future without limits!
