Day 23 of 30 putting Tefillin on a new Jew every single day! ✡️✨ Met a former lawyer who traded his law career for a water, fire, and mold restoration business because he wanted something more fulfilling—and ended up making even more! 💼🔥📦 What is Tefillin? 🤔 For anyone wondering what Tefillin is, it consists of two small black leather boxes containing sacred parchment scrolls inscribed with verses from the Torah. Wrapped around the arm (facing the heart) and head (above the eyes) using leather straps during weekday morning prayers, it symbolises connecting our thoughts, feelings, and actions to God. #Tefillin #JewishTradition #Mitzvah #Day23of30 #JewishLife #Faith #Inspiration by @rabbiraps
Day 22 of 30: Putting Tefillin on a New Jew every single day! 📜✨ Met this incredible Jewish personal injury attorney today who had some wisdom to share: "Whatever you do, be passionate about it, and the rest will come. Passion brings success!" From day one of his career, he came out running! What is Tefillin? Tefillin (also known as phylacteries) are a set of small black leather boxes containing parchment scrolls inscribed with verses from the Torah. Worn on the arm and head during weekday morning prayers by Jewish adults, they serve as a physical sign and spiritual reminder of connection to God, binding one’s mind and heart to divine purpose. #Tefillin #JewishPride #Inspiration #PassionAndSuccess #LegalWisdom #DailyInspiration by @rabbiraps
What a beautiful and unforgettable Bat Mitzvah Shabbos weekend celebrating our daughter Shaina! ❤️ Surrounded by family, friends, and generations of Jewish tradition, we celebrated Shaina turning 12 and becoming a Bat Mitzvah, taking on the responsibility of living a Jewish life and fulfilling the mitzvot. From the heartfelt blessings and prayers to lighting Shabbat candles with her sisters, mother, grandmothers, and great-grandmother, and ending with a beautiful musical Havdalah, every moment was so special. As parents, there is no greater nachas than watching your child grow in her love for Torah, Judaism, and Hashem. Mazel Tov, Shaina! We are so proud of you! ❤️ Swipe through for some of our favorite moments from this special weekend! 🕯️ by @rabbiraps
She's only 12, but according to Jewish law, she's now an adult! Just moments before her Bat Mitzvah ceremony, I found Shaina nervously preparing her speech. ❤️ In Judaism, girls become Bat Mitzvah at 12, taking personal responsibility for observing the mitzvot. A big milestone for a little girl growing up! 🥹 Follow for more behind-the-scenes moments of Orthodox Jewish family life! by @rabbiraps
Can you disagree with someone's traditions and still respect them? Absolutely! As a Hasidic rabbi, I raise my children to follow Jewish traditions, and Halloween isn't one of them. Its historical ties to pagan beliefs conflict with our religious values. But that doesn't mean I need to judge families who enjoy costumes, candy, and trick-or-treating. My faith teaches me not only what to believe, but also how to treat people who believe differently. We don't need to participate in everything our neighbors do to be good neighbors. I'm curious: Should the origins of a holiday determine whether we celebrate it today? 👇 by @rabbiraps
What a beautiful way to conclude Shaina’s Bat Mitzvah Shabbos weekend! ❤️ We gathered for Havdalah, the Jewish ceremony marking the end of Shabbat and the beginning of a new week, with wine, spices, a braided candle, and blessings. The incredible a cappella group led by Jacob Blumenthal filled the room with soulful singing, making this moment even more special and unforgettable! 🕯️🎶 by @rabbiraps
Five generations of Jewish women, united by the light of Shabbat! 🕯️❤️ At her Bat Mitzvah, Shaina led her sisters, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in lighting Shabbat candles. A beautiful tradition passed from generation to generation. by @rabbiraps
🎬 Who’s getting wrapped next? Follow along to find out! 👇 💡 Tefillin Quick Breakdown: What is Tefillin? Small black leather boxes containing sacred Torah verses, worn on the arm and head. They act as a physical anchor to direct our mind, heart, and actions toward God. Why skip Shabbat? Both Tefillin and Shabbat are sacred signs (ot) representing the covenant with God. Shabbat’s inherent sanctity and rest create that connection naturally, making Tefillin unnecessary on the Sabbath. #TefillinChallenge #RabbiRaps #Shabbat #JewishTraditions #SpiritualGrowth #Day24Tomorrow #FaithAndRest by @rabbiraps
Halloween is here, and everyone is talking about ghosts and demons! 👻 But did you know the Talmud says invisible spiritual beings surround us? Judaism has fascinating teachings about souls, spirits, and demons. Even great Jewish thinkers like the Rambam and Ramban approached supernatural forces differently. But here's the most important lesson: We don't need to fear the unknown. Hashem is always in control! Now I'm curious… Do YOU believe spirits can interact with our physical world? Let me know in the comments! Follow @rabbiraps for more surprising Jewish teachings. by @rabbiraps
Day 21 of 30: Tefillin Challenge! 🚲✡️✨ Met this guy on a bike ride and asked if he wanted to put on Tefillin—he jumped right on the opportunity! 😂🙌When asked what prayer was in his heart, he wished for people to see that Israel is the light of the world and to stand in support of the Jewish nation and its people. Amen! 🙏🇮🇱 What is Tefillin? 💡 Tefillin are small leather boxes containing sacred Torah passages. Worn on the arm and forehead during prayers, they serve as a spiritual reminder to bind our thoughts, hearts, and actions to God. #TefillinChallenge #JewishTikTok #StandWithIsrael #Mitzvah #AmYisraelChai #JewishPride #Tefillin by @rabbiraps
