Feeling blessed to have been able to attend and witness such a powerful panel discussion from phenomenal women leading the way in their respective fields. I feel so inspired and proud to be a Wellesley Alum and I’m so thankful for the boundless opportunities that I’ve been blessed with as a part of the Wellesley network.💙 by @rachel.e.frazer

Coming out of the woodworks to share that I had the pleasure of seeing @daniloperezjazz and @godwinloue live last night at Jazz at Lincoln Center🎉 what an amazing evening of celebration and hope 🥰 they’ll be performing there two more nights so don’t miss out!

Also always so much fun to reconnect with friends that feel like family 💕 by @rachel.e.frazer

Feeling grateful for my new lab home (with stellar views!!) and for all the past experiences and people in 2024 that have helped me grow. ☺️

Also my hair is not made for beanies nor is my skin made for 7 degree weather but I’m still so grateful to be in New York 🥲 by @rachel.e.frazer

Obligatory (I went to a conference this past week) post! Feeling grateful for this wonderful community of #NSPFellows and the entire Neuroscience community in general. I was able to network with some awesome people, hear about cool science and even tour the NIH campus which would have never even crossed my mind a few years ago! This might be my last SFN as a NSP Fellow but I know I’ll have this community for the rest of my career 😊 wish I would have taken more photos but here’s what I got! by @rachel.e.frazer

One of the things I have found the most joy in during my PhD is staring at confocal images lol. They’re just stunning and I love the process. 🥰

Essentially what I do is mix antibodies that attach to specific neurons (Oxytocin for example) then add a fluorescent marker to those antibodies. When the microscope shines a laser on these markers, they fluoresce (glow) at a certain wavelength of light😊 and then an image is captured. It’s such a cool process and it constantly amazes me! There are even more advanced methods than this which is crazy! by @rachel.e.frazer

Conference attire! (P.S. the first and third are the same for with a different shirt hair and jewelery) 🫢

Had a great time in DC learning about what it means to be a leader in the field of neuroscience! #nextgen23 I’m so grateful for the @societyforneuroscience neuroscience scholars program and the incredible opportunities they provide for underrepresented folks in Neuro like me 🫶✨ #happyhispanicheritagemonth by @rachel.e.frazer

Life update: as of March 2023, I’m officially a Ph.D candidate which is a pretty big deal but is also only the half way mark of this whole process 😅

On the way, I’ve received two masters, this PhD thing is weird but I’m grateful for every single step of the journey. I’ve learned so much about myself and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I’ve been taking time off social media bc let’s face it, it’s addictive and I’m trying to take care of my soul. I’m going to post every once and a while when I have a new update but I’d still love to hear how you all are doing! ♥️ by @rachel.e.frazer

Photo dump from my first SFN, can’t wait for next year ✨
I feel inspired, uplifted, more focused than ever before and excited to continue on this path. So grateful for all the new connections made, and of course the reunions as well 🥹

See y’all next year in D.C. ♥️
